Here is another act of sheer stupidity from that part of the country from 2006.

How could any American be offended by an American flag flying?  This management team is beyond clueless.  This isn't even political, it's just sheer stupidity.   :lol

Probably O'club material though.

One thing I admire about the Yanks is the fact that they are proud to Americans, In the UK a good part of the population have no pride in their history or country.

Wow that hits a little close to home.  I fly my flag seven days a week.  Even  bought a cool solar powered light that shines on it at night time. It looks really nice.  I don't live in an apartment but we do have a home owners association. They better think long and hard before they make the mistake of knocking on my door and asking me to take it down. :furious  :salute

evicted from the apartments? That manager should be evicted from the country.

PC at its finest, but what chaps me is that is almost traitorous. If a person is offended by the American way of life or by this country's values then its time they pack up and check out the realestate over in Africa or Asia.

I don't have any words.......

I also fly one 365 days.  Along with Navy flag for my grandfather (who lives with us) and most recently (for me) an Army flag (no pics here at work to post with all three flying)

You can take it from house when you pry it from my cold, dead hand.

Hell I even fly one from my Jeep when we take our annual trip to Maryland on the 4th of July weekend with my grandpop.  Usually nothing smaller than 3' x 5'.

Most people don't have a clue about flag code any more.  What is worse is most just don't care.

True, that. Did you know those little American Flag napkins and paper plates you see everywhere on the 4th of July are actually in violation of the flag code? I think even posters like that National Guard one posted in this thread are, as well:

The flag should never be used for any advertising purpose. It should not be embroidered, printed, or otherwise impressed on such articles as cushions, handkerchiefs, napkins, boxes, or anything intended to be discarded after temporary use. Advertising signs should not be attached to the staff or halyard.
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

I parked my truck facing the street once and we got a letter saying that if it was like that again they'd tow it.

I'd send back a letter saying if a tow truck driver set one foot on my property he would get a warning followed by the potential use of lethal force, followed by a call to 911 to have them send a coroner.  But I live in TX and shooting people who set foot on your property with intent to commit a crime (stealing a car for example) has legal precedent.

Heck, some guy shot some burglars in his neighbors yard and the judge/jury decided it was a legal shooting :)
Everyone I know, goes away, in the end.

I recently left the USAF due my inability to complete a PT Test due to injuries. I have been affliated with the military for my whole life one way or another(12 years active duty, 1 1/2 DEP, and 16-17 years dependent) . Most people here know someone who has either served in the military or is serving at this very moment. We all take the time to thank our vets because like myself and those we know we all did it by choice. The reason I am stating all this is read the article attached and make sure you have something near by to hit or kids are not in the room because you aint going to believe this. Due to the restriction on language here is what sort of happened while reading and watching the news video

You'd lose in court.  There is a mountain of precedent with respect to HOAs enforcing the CC&Rs legally.  I know a woman who was evicted by the Sherriff after her HOA foreclosed on her home from not paying her HOA dues.  Her Mom had gotten extremely ill just after she was divorced, and she used the money to pay hospital bills and such.  Not saying I agree that Nazi HOA types (we all know them) should have that power, but they do.  Basically, without that legal authority, all the good things that HOAs were intended for would be unenforceable.

My guidance would be to read the CC&Rs very carefully before you decide to buy a property, because if there's a clause you don't like the sound of, don't buy the property.

Most HOAs are nothing but pencilnecks who have no life and no importance trying to think they are important.

#S# to your grandfather and all the rest who have served/are serving/those that will serve.

I fly two American flags at my house.  Unlike some of the others around here I have enough respect to take them both down before dark since I have no lights for them.

Most HOAs are nothing but pencilnecks who have no life and no importance trying to think they are important.

Without a doubt there are those that take their HOA duties to extremes, but the HOA is itself liable for being sued if it doesn't enforce its CC&Rs with vigor.  Like I said before, if you think you don't want the HOA police giving you grief over flags or turning a wrench on your truck in the driveway, don't buy the property.  The mountain of legal precedent supporting draconian HOA practices is a juggernaut.
