This is our school...
« on: October 31, 2009, 03:17:55 PM »
So, they have a parking policy, where if someone doesn't park in the area they're supposed to, they get one of those yellow car boots. Well, this guy named Nick, he has this HUGE green dodge, raised a good 8-12 inches, with huge bellybutton tires, and all last year, he parked in the lot for seniors, and they couldn't boot him for it. Well, THIS year, he's a senior, so, he parks there anyways, but just to make sure he won't screw up, the school spent 1100$$ on a specially made parking boot, just to boot his truck. When he already gets to park where he wants this year.  :lol

I'm with you Oakranger. OMG guess what, there was this under cover cop at our school, who looked like he was ATLEAST 30. Everyone knew he wasn't a student, well we didn't KNOW, but we could tell. Any way, his first 7 words to me were "know where I can buy some pot?". And later, one of the substitue teachers recognized him from a college course she used to teach.

school administrations are a bunch of morons.

You can say that again. When I left public school for cyber school, the public school wasn't too happy that they had to pay for it. Should have taken a few weeks to get settled, but the public school kept "loosing" papers and it took 3 months. The one cyber schooled we tried wasn't working out, so we switched to another. Kept getting calls from the first school that we were not logging in and doing work 2 years after leaving them.

Our school quickly bought and installed document cameras (think the opposite of an overhead projector; a digital camera pointing down on an object and relaying through an LCD projector) for many teachers because they are millions of times easier to read and have the ability to zoom in. Problem is, you can rinse off an overhead sheet. You have to use paper with a camera...and we used to run out by year's end before that.
Just as soon as the teachers were getting used to the new technology, they installed Smart Boards that had apparently been sitting in the hallway of the administrative office for years. Those entirely obsoleted the document cameras, which have now found nice homes on top of shelves and cabinets with their power chords snug around their necks.

What school is this?

GHS.

Stupidest thing is, he's a senior, so he gets to park where he's always parked. 2 years ago, they were towing it, but I guess it cost them more money? Or something, but they quit and replaced it with the boot.

One of my friends got booted, and he kicked it 2 or 3 times, and it fell off. So, they're wasting money, on a product that doesn't even work.

:rofl,  they are forgetting that kids are a hell lot smarter then that.

Speaking of pot, i know a guy who was in his last year of college getting his degree in teaching.  He always thought he was smarter then me and try to put me down. He was doing his student teaching at a Catholic high school and got busted for having 40 lbs. of pot in the truck of his car, ON SCHOOL GROUNDS.  least to say, he wasted 5 years of school to end up being a drug dealer.

The couple of drug dealers I knew in high school all thought they were pretty smart, getting away with something.  I think they're mostly dead by now.
Everyone I know, goes away, in the end.

It was always funny (for me anyways  :) ) when they brought the drug dogs in. One time, they didn't even announce to the teachers they were bringing them in because some homeroom teachers tell their students during homeroom time. We were just sitting there and over the PA we hear "All students are to remain in the current classes until further notice. There are drug dogs in the hallways, so until further notice, all students are to remain in the classes they are in now." Right after about more than half the students in the class I was in looked shocked and kinda slid down in their chairs.  :lol The next half hour we heard dogs barking almost every 10 seconds. Right after we could go to our next class you can see a lot of students running to their lockers to see if they had a tie on their locker (indicating the dogs sensed something inside). Busted a lot of them that day.

That's one benifit of being in a small town, don't have to worry about drug dogs (as if I'd have anything to hide, now, my locker partners, that could be a different story...). Only thing we have to do is worry about Bates (Yup, school security guard is named Bates, so needless to say, he is Master Bates to most. :D) finding our locker pegged. ;) Our school "security" isn't all that great, although, with the new campus came new cameras, even some infared. O.O
