Aw c'mon Wrongway.  Again?  We don't have it yet.  Let's talk about perking when it's added, and when the variant for inclusion is chosen.  The 1M variant was introduced in 1942 and the straight Yak-3 was introduced in 1943.  Later variants may be perk-worthy but may not meet inclusion requirements to begin with.

I agree with you. It would be a terror though, but if I remember correctly that engine had a lot of problems and only a few birds actually received one.  No real info on VK-107 equipped birds seeing combat.  Only mentions of testing flights found so far.

I didn't realize that the Klimov engines had such little horsepower. How were the Yak's able to achieve such speed?

idk why the yak flys that fast... i really dont but i loooove the yakU!!!!! such a low acceleration and strange concept of vertical fighting but the perfect plane when flown right. got an 8kill streak in one once in a furball one flight... never did it again and 50bucks says i never repeat the streak...

How about manuverability, better or worse then the Yak-9?
From what I understand the 3 would be slightly more maneuverable (lighter) albeit slower than the 9U.

I thought the speed was reached thanks to major streamlining, due to the immense lack of high horsepower engines in comparison to what they had early on in the war. I could be very wrong, though.
