Hardest landings

Post stories of the hardest, or most crazy landings you've made.


My top landing would have to be when I set a Lanc down on a carrier. I had got my fuel tanks holed and so I couldn't  make it back to a base. I was gona bail when I should happen to see a CV 1/2 a sector away. Lowered flaps, gear, and slowed to 100 mph, and when I touched down, the right wing got torn off by the island.

Wel my hardest landing was in a real aircraft. A Cessna 150 with those old spring steel legs. I bounced so high that the next hit would have been considered a crash. So I firewalled the throttle and fled back to my home airport hoping no one had seen it. :joystick: :airplane:

Missing both of my wing tips and one of my landing gear in a la-7 I came towards the field. I slowed to 200 about 20ft off the runway and popped my 1 gear down and slammed strait down to break the gear and hopefully slow down enough to stop on the runway, I do this and to my amazement I stop on the runway. I only had one kill but it felt like I landed 10.

A successful landing of a 262 on a carrier with one engine, no elevators, and no ailerons.

landing an ar234 on a cv, on first impact I was too fast, I broke the tail section off the plane, it went STRAIGHT up, and then pointed down and landed smoothly on the cv deck.

Wasn't hard, but it wasn't fun!  Flew that way for a sector and a half...landed 8 kills, too :)  IIRC I was winging up with some 71st guys that day.

was laughing at someone who crashed, I hit a tree bounced of the ground and landed on top of the building at the rearm pad.

I think I deleted mine, I empty the pics folder every 3 months or so.

Mine was when I forgot to put the gear down in a Cessna 172RG.  It was a really good landing, if I had just put the gaer down, it was really embarrasing, and really HARD to taxi, but is sure was easy to unload.
