Aces High Strategy Guide
« on: October 19, 2001, 07:24:00 AM »
I am a few weeks into the creation of an "unofficial" Strategy Guide for beginners and others interested in how everything works in AH. The question is, does HTC have any plans toward making an "official" Strategy Guide, and how much interest is there in this?

I have found that there is a lot more work involved in putting this out, and I don't want to waste so much time from flying if it will be ill-received, or not used, etc.

Too, I may need some input from the upper 'ranks' as it were.

Interested?

I very much liked the strategy documents that I got when I first started Air Warrior.
The ideas from guys like DD, DokGonzo, RM, etc. were a big help.
I think however, that the community had devolved to more of a gamer society and unfortunately, not many of them care to know how to make every plane a killing machine.
It's too bad really, because it would nullify the need for perk systems and HO kills.

I would say that HTC would be only too pleased for you to do this Strategy Guide, as I imagine they have other things to do like the ongoing development of the game.

Go for it, Voss - I am sure it will be greatly appreciated by HTC and other players alike (me for one!)   :)

I'm wondering what the scope of this guide would be.  I've seen documents on air combat be a short as a few page long pamphlet to (very) large textbooks.  And then you're going to talk about applying these ideas uniquely to Aces High?  I don't want to sound to skeptical, but I think anything that would be helpful would have WAY too little information to work with or be dautingly long for the beginner.

Voss, you need a staff.  Good luck  :)

Anyway...great idea, a Strategy Guide would be awesome.  Sorely missing and needed product in Aces High...there's really way too much "missing" for the beginner in AH.

Voss, in regards to Mission Planner Strat, you might want to look at this thread: http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/Forum2/HTML/000591.html
