If the scenario is the Soccer war, then there are no Allies in it at all ;)

Thank you, Jimson, I think this is key.  For some bewildering reason, every time an AvA thread starts it gets diverted to a "why I hate the AvA" theme.  It would be one thing if the new folks were the ones saying that - see, for example, some criticism of the current Soccer Wars setup, which is understandable and which was considered by staff before we chose it.  But most often it's veteran players who are nursing some grudge from months, or even years ago.  I can understand why someone might not want to fly in the AvA, but it is very difficult for me to comprehend why someone would want the AvA to fail.

So I suggest we all remember our mothers' advice about saying nothing if you can't say something nice.

well they are flying U.S. aircraft, so at one time or during it for all i know they were allies of the U.S. in order to buy the aircraft. so im not incorrect in saying its allies vs allies. and you are correct stating both countrys are not eachothers allie  :rofl

1. we all know that its a game not a WWII sim. but imo axis vs allies room should have axis aircraft available.
2. 3 U.S. aircraft vs 2 U.S. aircraft for 1 whole room is a waist of a room.
3. an 8k alt cap is silly no matter what.
4. i was under the impression thr room was trying to get people in it, not drive them out. who wants an axis vs allies room with f4u4's vs. f4u1 and p51's?? that sounds more like the DA than anything else.

im just saying what i see... no way could i get my squad in an empty room to "ferball" f4u's all day long. or even more than a flight or two.

I'll just fly the F4u4 at 200ft and watch as the other side killshoots eachother not having tags :aok (3 F4u's fighting witch one is the bad guy lol)

Allright.

It's not going to be for everyone. They run alot of different set-ups. Some like some, some like others.
Maybe we will see you some other time.

Thanks for the input.

yes. and?

Waffles.

It's not that they were allies of the US it's that after Korea we had all this equipment that wasn't being used so there were two choices sell it or scrap it.

ya i know. so if its not axis vs allies whats it doing in the room? also if they bought it from us (both country's) they were our allies (as we don't sell military equipment to people we are not allies with.) so as i said before I'm not wrong and neather is Lusche. its our allies vs. our allies.

This gave me a good laugh, but that's about as far as I can go with it (self-censorship by rule #14).

I agree it was only part of the problem....  the CMs that were around back then could have fixed it.

USCH, maybe you should fly with more of an open mind. maybe the cm's are trying new things to encourage people to come in and try it out. not all scenarios work for everyone.

luckily you have 5 other arena's to choose from. its just a little experimentation and i dont think its a bad thing. settings can always be changed if they dont work out. its not a perfect WW2 in the AVA. if it were, you would have more crappy weather and people complaining that they cant see the targets from 25k which is the way it really was. you would also have a shotgun mounted on your computer screen and when you died in the game the shotgun would go off and it would really be game over! :)

all im trying to say is just give it a try, play it with an open mind and feel free to make suggestions. the CM's are pretty good at listening.
