Roxio alternative?
« on: January 19, 2010, 02:45:33 PM »
I've read a few of Skuzzy's comments about Roxio. Lately I haven't been much of a fan m'self, but I use it.

Saw another comment in the 295/5870 thread, and thought I'd start a new topic about it.

Question to Skuzzy (or anybody else?) is: What else would you use to set up CD/DVD projects and burn discs?

Thoughts, suggestions? Non-roxio burning software?

Imgburn is a great tool, but it does not have a pretty whiz-bang GUI.  It does not invade your computer like some wild-eyed maniac trying to rule over you.

Nero used to be a good one.  If you are very careful with it, you can install it without it doing too much harm.  It has the pretty GUI most people seem to need.  It started getting bloated after the 6.0 release.

ImgBurn works great. It's free and more than gets the job done.

I liked Nero up to version 7. I use StarBurn which I installed  from giveawayoftheday giveaway quite some time ago.

I noticed that only new versions of Roxio had support for dual-layer DVD burning.

Does this imgburn support DL? I don't need a "pretty" GUI, but in this day and age I demand there be one. Does it support drag-n-drop for adding files to a project?

ImgBurn is what I use.  I also have tried infrarecorder, but much prefer ImgBurn.
