You need the hardware.

TrackIR 5 is $150 and TrackIR 4 is $120.

Just so there is no confusion there IS a free program you can download called 'freetrack' which can do the same thing as TrackIR using LED lights and a webcam.... BUT it requires so much tweaking and is so unreliable (at least I didn't have any luck getting it to work well) that I finally gave in and bought a TrackIR
