Anyone home?
« on: January 28, 2010, 10:58:05 AM »
So i went in to the AvA today to see if the map was still messed up....

I was alone so i knew i could get all the ack down and the 50 troops needed easy (i did it in under 15min all together)

So i de acked both all of midway (both islands) and to my surprise the troops were running unlike yesterday for the knights.... :aok

Then as the last of the 50 troops go in it switches to knight  :aok    :airplane:

Then right after that it says the war has been won and the terrain will change in 4 min  :cry :cry :cry :cry

So even when  japan (knights) take midway they don't get there land bases aircraft.... this after there 1st 50 troops gave the bish (U.S) the base  :furious :furious

Its got to be yet another reason as to why people don't populate the AVA... in the last 3 maps we have had some pretty bad bug/setup troubles, and they don't seem to be fixed until a day or 2 later.

I am in no way complaining about the great people we have trying to help the AvA and the wonderfull setups we have (this week is awesome IMO) but we need to have someone in the office on the ball here. (i know you have alot on your table, again not a complaint)

For everyone involved keep up the good work i know we are all doing our best.

Now that it has been reset....  :O All the aircraft (for the most part are enabled for rook) and 10CV's you can not controll in the middle of noplase.
The knights are "that country is not accepting citizens"
and the bish have 1 CV (again un controlable) in the lower corner of the map by the only base bish have. some 275miles from midway (now that's a long drive for 5 LVT's  :rofl

heya USCH......... what is your ingame  gameid ( handle ) ?

do you fly in a squad?  just curious,

The AvsA is volunteer staff and they will get to and fix the setup as soon as one gets home from work, and is able to do so......

I find they do a very good job , sometimes we all have to wait a little while........ also, I did notice your post about not complaining   :aok

 :airplane:

This is the first time that I have seen this map.  It looks incredible!  :x  Hey there Dedalos  :salute , I think you agree with that.  Generally, I think that map setups are hopefully not designed to win the war.  I think that was your point.  :noid  I would like to see this map run for longer than 1 week, or at least one that looks just as purdy.

When I think of Midway, there are a number of scenarios that could be played out with this setup / map.

Bugs   :devil will not defeat this work of art.  We have the right guys (as you pointed to) on the staff.  I say that if it takes a few weeks to get it ironed out, it would be well worth it.  As I speak, I feel confident that they are already on it.

Any suggestions, Dedalos?  I am a critical thinking kind of guy, but I can only make assumptions of how the settings work.

Capturing bases..... has gone down hill since AH2 version IMO.  I still think, there is a reasonable balance out there somewhere.

I'll need to check the field-capture counts to ensure they're set to 0.  Might have missed it (my bad).

Crappy thing about a map reset, it doesn't reload the tables again - that's a manual process required by the admins.

I'll have to reset the carriers too...  :furious

Give me a few hours til I get home from work. :airplane:

I've reload the tables you had listed..  The object settings however are set to defualt.  The field reset is/was set to '0'.  I've tried using that setting before on other maps and it doesn't work for whatever reason, maybe HTC can shed some light as to why.

So as of right now the Bish (japan) should not try to take midway, if i understand you properly? due to the fact the war will be won again.

If we made the setup (i know nothing of the subject) so that you had to own all airfields we could take midway back and forth due to the 3 other bases in the 3 corners of the map. If I'm correct? if its possable?
