Ok, you will laugh at this one.

I had to dig out the snow in the driveway for the Wife to get the Lexus out as it was about 15" deep.

For the Cooper, I put two planks on the edge of the snow bank and drove over the snow.  Saved a lot of work.  :)

I drove over some berm this morning that looked like a buried Hummer.

Awesome.   That is a good, solid and very realistic point on the spare.   99% of the people wouldn't factor that in.

on the subject of spares.........2 things that piss me off concerning them.

first off......often times i see an upper end luxury car, with a friggin donut spare......and a cheap arsred car with a full size......

second off......EVERYONE seems to keep an eye on their tire pressures. yet very few, if any seem to think to check the pressure in their spare tire.

Exactly when did they become snow "machines" and not snowmobiles?  Sounds like they should be making snow and not driving over it.

RE: no school.  I think Austin will call off school now if there's a forecast of snow.

Where I grew up, if the superintendent could make it to work, we could make it to school.  He was from Maine.  Every other town in the area would get the day off and we would be hiking to school in a blizzard through the drifts.

Cooper

Have you had it on a track yet for a DE event?

I hear they are a boatload of fun to drive.

No track time for this one.  I have another car I am working on for that.  But the Wife does make use of the "Oh Jesus!" handle when she is riding with me.  Yes, it is a hoot to drive.  Handles like a go-kart.

Amazing. Heard you guys had a couple feet of snow. Even Florida had an inch or two.

Just leaned back and snapped this out my study window as I have the day off.

Everyone has snow but me and I live in the mountains! Beautiful sunny day here :)

A Shelby Cobra, nice.

Is it a kit or an actually Cobra?

Both. It will be a Cobra kit.  Cannot afford an original.  Wouldn't drive an original on a track either.

Either Hurricane or Lone Star Classics.  Both have a stretch which has enough leg room for me to drive comfortably and safely.

Going with the new block Ford came out with (M-6010-BOSS35195) for the engine.  Probably stroke to 383 using an Eagle forged crank and rods.

The block is cast from diesel grade iron rated at 41,000psi, versus the 351W Sportsman 21,000psi tensile strength.  Smaller Cleveland crank journal (2.75" versus 3") will help reduce drag at higher RPM's as well.
