The Fritz X guided bomb
« on: February 21, 2010, 08:36:55 AM »
I would like to see this bomb added to the game.  As far as I know this is a 3000 lb guided munition that sunk a couple of ships during WW2 and that the only plane that I know of carring this bomb is the Do 217. That is all the info that I have.  What do ya'll think  :rock

I know what you are talking about it would be dropped and you adjust the fins to make it go left or right.  I like the idea.

We lack the plane at the moment. That might pose as a problem.  ;)

Way too much programming for way too little return to make this anything near a priority.  Sorry, but that is how I see it.

Fritz was tested on Heinkel 111s and was slated for use with the He-177, but it was only used in combat on the Do-217.

However...while on the subject of Ju-88s, a Mistel might be fun*. We  have Ju-88s and we have 109F-4s and 190A-5s *(Note - I said fun, that's all).

Pilot the '88 into the target, when it explodes, you're spawned into the level-flying 109. Your 109 gets downed before you crash your 88, tough luck, you're dead.

how bout this in the ord package :). I believe it was used in the Mediterranean. "the Hs-293 became the only liquid-propellant missile, which saw action during World War II. Saw action in three types of German aircraft -- Dornier-217, Heinkel-177, and Focke-Wulf-200---were sent to sea at the end of 1943 and the beginning of 1944 to attack allied convoys with Hs-293. Each bomber could carry a single missile below the fuselage, plus regular bombs in internal bays."
We need the Do 217 :D
The Henschel Hs 293 Anti-Ship Missile.

"start with an Ohka..."

Or end with a perked Ohka. It was a piloted suicide bomb so when you kamikaze with it you're
unable to log back on for 2 weeks. The Friz and the the American TSC VB-1/VB-2 Azon and
VB-3/VB-4 Razon guided bombs predate it by years. But I'd much rather have the American
BAT as it was more advanced.

Lol, we made the suicide bomb rocket without the suicide!
