WW2 Pilot Training POH's for us to review

I'm posting these for the benefit of the community. A few years ago I acquired around 40 or so training manuals in a severely deteriorated condition. Thinking at the time, I gotta scan these before they are completely useless, I took the worst of the bunch and did just that. So, I present to you the following aircraft. Keeping in mind, that very low time pilots were saddled with flying these beasts - and a lot of the time these were the general instructional materials they had to go by - especially for single seat rides (P-38 droop snoot not withstanding).

Pay particular attention to the sudden application of power when slow and high angle of attack, or during takeoff.

Wow, something new for the P-38 damage model!

Page 13, on slow rolls says:

Note This maneuver is always done to the left. A slow roll to the right can cause the nosewheel door to pop open and break off.

Bet that'd knock a few MPH off top speed!

Thanks for sharing this with us! Just spent 45 minutes reading through the P47N manual. Learned so many new things.
