The spit 14 actually takes some skill, it can't turn as good as spit 16 can. Spit 16 on the other hand takes no skill to fly at all, you barely pull the joystick back and it's already around on you. And what's really stupid, you can't do hardly anything with them on defensive since they follow your every move without even stalling.

But this is not true.  Spit 16s are definitely beatable.

I find the spit8 more of a handful than the 16.... maybe it's just the drivers.

true.  you wanna perk a spit do the 8, dont worry about the 16 since 90% of the people that up one, cant really fly it well and will rip their wings off.

well said for any excellent pilot and their chosen plane :aok

its because people believe that the Ki84 is crap due to the fact that many either do not fly them right or believe that because they are japanese they are the tightest turning AC therefore no reason to fly above 5,000 feet in it. same reason why the zero has a bad reputation even though you can dive in on someone at 450mph and unlike the 109s it will NOT fully lock up. go 500 though and ur dead ;)

Ki-84 is one of my favorite fighters in AH.  I'd put it somewhere in the top 10 unperked fighters in AH.

One thing I particularly like about it is its Spitfire XVI like performance without the Spitfire's fragility and short legs.

You have only 3 kills to 2 deaths against the Spitfire Mk XVI...can anyone guess what your true motivation is to get the Mk XVI perked?  *Hint* It's not because he thinks too many fly it or it's too easy to fly...

I could pose several possibilities, given that I know little about Thrash.

First, he's got a 1.5 k/d against it. That's not bad - it's better than 1:1. My first thought is, to whom were the 2 deaths credited? Did he get roughed up one fine day by a better Spit stick? (heh-heh, Spitstick). Perhaps there were words exchanged?

Clearly, the proliferation issue is shammy, given he's hardly had to deal with the thing. That was my point - overflying one or running one is pretty damn easy. Low and slow is usually where you find 'em. Most of the times that I have trouble with a Spitter is when I'm in a Spitter - usually an XIII or IX - both of which I intuitively prefer to the XVI - especially the feather-like XIII.

I think he just sharted his nappy.

Some say revenge is a dish best served cold. I say it's usually best served hot, chunky, and foaming. Eventually, you will all die in my vengeance vomit firestorm.
