Me262 won't sustain level flight
« on: March 17, 2010, 12:43:08 PM »
http://dasmuppets.com/public/Grizz/autopilot problem.ahf

When I center out my aircraft or even put it on autopilot, the Me262 still wants to climb for an additional 500-1000 feet before leveling out.  It's very strange.  It feels like a calibration issue but I assure you it's not.  I checked my y axis calibration and it's pin pointed at 32767.  I can test other aircraft if needed but so far the only aircraft that does it this noticeably is the jet, which started after the update.

Film shows me on autopilot and still climbing 500 feet before leveling out.

I upped a 262 last Tuesday night / early Wednesday morning and I noticed this also. Even after I used the trim set command she still wanted to climb.

Same here, I thought it was my calibration and have recalibrated several times in the last few days with no affect(my y axis is dead on also). For me it seems to relate to speed as the faster I go the harder it pulls up. I've noticed it in the P47M and a couple of other fast birds also, but it's not nearly as bad as the 262.

Noticed the same as well on my end. The nose up attitude as well as the tendancy to roll to the left made gunning more difficult; on top of my already poor gunnery. Lol.

I've noticed this nose high and roll to the left with the 109G14.  Others agree that their flying has changed, but all blame it on our recent newly formed habits of WWI flying.  I find myself snap rolling the 109G14 and being unable to roll to the right at all speeds.  I've been auguring quite frequently since my return from the WWI arenas.

Noticed this as well...I didn't have AP problems but when I didn't have it on and stick was centered it wanted to climb slightly.

It's still really screwed up.  The faster you get, the more the elevators pull up.

Took out a Me 262 and tried it and it did the same with me.  Upped a P-38 and auto-pilot worked as it normally does.  Maybe the Lufthwhiners are correct, there is an anti-LW conspiracy at HTC headquarters.  :noid

I think the accelerations are screwed up also.  Top speeds might be fine on the deck but the 262 definitely is not picking up speed as quickly in the dive anymore.

Played with 262 in TA and found that auto level (X key) works fine but if you turn off the auto level and turn on the Combat Trim it rolls slowly to the left as it's climbing for the moon.

It's not the auto pilot, it's the Combat Trim that's out of whack.
