Possible skin viewer bug (more likely my system setup)

I'm not sue if this is a bug or, more likely, a problem with my system but when I use the skinviewer I don't see the skins properly.

This is how it looks in the viewer,


And this is how it looks in game,


This happens with all aircraft not just the Dr1. Any ideas or recommendations would be appreciated.
