Betty came rollin up on Sabby and punched him in the arm like it was her brother( Keep in mind both of them had thier main sails up and were headed off into the sunset, they were wasted) and Sabby  shoved Betty into a table like he  was in a mosh pit. That was the high light of the weekend for me right there.

Well folks, I will say that Dayton was one of the most memorable times I've had. But as all of my closest local friends will tell you this stuff that Von Messa made was right next to my heart. Von, I am saving these two bottles for us to share next year together.....be there!
I am working on the videos and photos and will post later this week; I just got home this evening.

Wow! What a weekend!!






First let me say Happy Anniversary ... this was our fifth year.

I was going to do a "general" thank you but, I just can't so

grab a beer (coffee if it is morning) and enjoy some reading

...

My <S> of the weekend definitely goes to the man who without his

labor we would of had some hungry folk on our hands. The heat

index of this guys weekend is unmeasurable! I don't know if I

or alot of the people there could of slaved over a grill for

that long of a period of time which for the 48 hours I was

there that is where he was planted. This guy did not just grill

he grilled to perfection!! Oh and how sexy is this ...


Chef from the bottom of my heart (and stomach) thanks for ALL

you did! You are awesome.

All of you know in the game it is all about gv'n for me so to

meet one of the gvers who make me loose my cool was pretty

awesome ... Belial, glad you made it! Beware though my

intimidation is less! Besides now that we got up close and

personal I am sure you'll spare my panzer when you know I am

out there.


As far as private gv parties in the MA go I have to say some of

my best nights have been with this guy who really had me fall

for him as a cartoon pilot but, not as much as I could of in

"real" life ... what a sweatheart! real, it was a sincere

pleasure to meet you but, getting to know havoc better I would

say now in "real" life you got a run for your money!! In the

game though havoc is pure enemy!! Sorry havoc but, that a20

eggn' stuff will put ya' last everytime!



Ok one night talking about this weekend about two/three months

ago I was saying I was going to bring my snuggie to chill by

the fire well, long story short we got to talking about how you

put them on like a hospital gown and that led to your backside

sticking out and well without too many more details I had to

get a snuggie for RacrX just hoping I'd get a peek at that

backside and well ...





As most of you know Marshal and I run three Sundays of Heavy

Metal Sunday in the SEA and the third Sunday each month (except

June and July) is the Enduro Air Racing that this years

champion was among us. Congrats MAD!
BTW that system of yours is sweet! I have pc envy. LOL





How awesome to meet Nomde! I am so glad you made it. I have to

tell you though out of all these guys THE LAST one I would of

thought I had to worry about hitting on me was your Dad!! LOL I

am not talking just a little flirtin' either!! One of the best

moments of the night was when he said "come here" and I thought

how many kisses can this guy handle to find out he wanted to

whisper to me how he appreciated us because it meant alot to

his son Nomde to be there and my first thought is I hope my

hubby is as good a father as yours Nomde! My second thought was

we were WAY more appreciative of you both making the trip!


Karaya, as always very cool to shoot the watermelon with! Thanks for

the heads up on the hockey game info. looking forward to

getting in on that. I think this is a great look for you ...

I am sooooo super glad you were close enough to make the trip!

Lyric, another year and always glad you make it ... got my

Koala from last year and now my Kangaroo LOL so adorable! This

year got to chat a little more then usual which was nice! Had a

question for ya' ... may I have the recipe for that cake/ice

cream thingy? I wish the best for a contract for that girl of

yours too!!

was an awesome two nights of hanging out!! That daughter of

was really cool to spend some time together and really cool to

One of many shocking moments: finding out that one of the

LTAR's from back in the day (approx. six years ago) was kickin

Nghtmare, your are the man! Betty and I start our planning 3 to

6 months prior to each of these events and it doesn't stop

until the last car pulls away from the event! We love every

minute of it but, it makes it impossible to get pics or video

over the weekend. Thanks for being our paparazzi to get all

the QUEEN B and Princess Gotya shots!

Betty, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!! I believe year five is wood but, I

rather not give you wood it would scare me if I did!! I usually

say we did it again but, this time I can't because EVERYONE

did!! Truly all of you made this what it was ... wow to the

abundance of items to make this an awesome weekend. Anyone who

brought anything and contributed their time really made this

event what it is and the donations made it cost effective for

more players to be able to make it.




Most of the donations were on the confirmed guest list and I

said from the beginning no matter how big, no matter how small

each contribution made this party great!!

For me personally as I said before laboring over that grill

gets a huge thank you from me!! Even paying close attention to

when the drinking was going on for a bit and looking around to

see who has eaten I walked over to Chef to see about firing up

the grill once again to make sure we get something out so the

drinkers have food in their belly and here he comes towards me

with a pan full of fresh off the grill burgers so this guy was

dead on all day all night and I heard breakfast was awesome

too! Never made breakfast myself but, OMGAWD the menu was

unreal!!

Thanks again Chef for feeding the folks. You RAWK!!



For the folks who couldn't make it or said they will try next

year ... please do it is a blast and so cool to put voices with

faces.

2011 will have much more of an advanced notice so keep your

eyes peeled after the holidays since the word is some are

thinking "vacation" time and Betty and I understand some jobs

require advanced notice.

Sorry I didn't get to meet all yas and introduce myself. After about 30 minutes of that and talking with people from last year I remembered, then the volleyball game against the bish hoard  , I just sat and drank / ate/ watched the band.  Was pretty dead after the death march to and from the airshow and the hangover from the night before.

Just got home Monday night, to say it was a blast is an understatement. I was glad to see everyone and have some fun. Das Boot was running but don't know if anyone got any shots of it . All the food the booze from Jagerbombs to Boots of beer you name it, it was there. Was my first time at the gathering but not the last. To Betty and SGY, you did one heck of a job pulling this all together. It was worth the 10 hour drive.
To Boxboy and girl, Jaxxo, Nef, maddog and all the others, all I can say is you made my summer. A special thanks I want to send out to SGY for the gifts and the picture of my fan club(It will be on the wall tomorrow)Speed Major and Kobbs thanks. It felt good to be amongst strangers I only knew through the game now I can call friends. So good night for now all. To those who couldn't make it, you missed one heck of a party. Only way to improve over that would have been cops and guns and firetrucks.

Glad you guys liked the beer, some apparently more that others (Dragon, I'm looking at you)    I hope that all the German didn't scare anyone away from drinking it. 

I can't claim all of the credit.  Bräumeister Todd (a friend of mine for 30 years) helped out in the brewing, mostly drinking beer while watching me work    I also exploited my kids as child labor for part of the bottling/capping process.  Mrs. Von was also a HUGE help with labeling (and helping Todd drink) even though she and Todd thought I was nuts for spending the time and money on beer that we would not get to drink.  ( I did however, also have 5 gallons of each kind in kegs at home that we took to Maryland with us)  I would not have been possible though, if I didn't have a way to get it out to you guys........

We will make a concerted effort to get there next year.  D1gr met the Admiral so he knows what kind of planning is involved for a trip if we don't take him along.  Then again, we may bring him.  It looks like from the pics, that the Jazzy power chair performed quite well.       It looks to be exactly the same model that we have.  That is usually the biggest concern when going to events with lots of grass.  If we do bring him, it will have to be the hotel for us, though.  When you are 89, sleeping on the ground just isn't an option anymore..

As for the beer staying good til next year, it should be fine.  The Hefeweizen is better consumed fresh but it will keep.  If you want, you can contact Stampf and send some to him (I used the poor guy's name but haven't had a chance to send him any, yet)  The porter will probably taste even better after the flavors have a chance to mellow and the IPA will last until the next Millennium with it's high gravity and the amount of hops that I put into it 

If we make it next year I'm bringing kegs.      I can bring more varieties if I don't have to bottle them all.  It will also give Bräumeister Todd more chances to drink while I work (anyone see a pattern here?)     I'm also going to brew way in advance (as in when it is still cold outside) because it was 110 deg. in my basement.  Boiling 10-15 gallons at a time creates lot of steam   I also wont have to worry about typo's on 144 bottles of beer (I'm so happy the wife pointed that fact out, after we were all finished putting the labels on)
