Loved the first one. The second was really bad. The third was ok in a low-budget cheesy kind of way right up to the point when Jolene Blalock said "I've got religion... I've got it bad!", and they fell to their knees praying. At that point I gagged.

The first movie, like you said, was terrible, and greatness at the same time.. Haven't seen any of the other movies but I'm thinking I should check them out!   :lol  :rock

I've read the book several times. What can I say, I'm a Heinlein junky and I like my fix now and then. AFAIK it's still on the Army's Command and General Staff College reading list. Surprised the heck out of me when I saw it there back in 87. That's 1987 you dweebs NOT 1887.  I agree that the book needed to be turned into a series. Maybe someone like Webber or Ringo could pick up the idea and run with it.  :pray

As for the movies. There has to be a high speed whirring sound at Heinlien's cemetery. He's GOT to be spinning at 25,000 rpm over those movies........... :huh

The first one was bad enough. I didn't see the second one. While channel surfing the other week I saw they had the third movie on. Heck I never knew they did a 3rd one. Oh crap, was that bad. We watched it just to see how bad and predictable it would be. Gag!  :uhoh

They FINALLY got to the suits that were an integral part of the book. I suppose I'll have to look for the Roughnecks just to see what they do to it. I'll need some pepto and other anti nausea meds to get through it I bet.  :( :uhoh

My favorite movie. Love em' all. Although it disappoints a bit, i believe they are still worth watching. I've watched the first one more than 100 times, not even joking.

Did you know that there is also a Starship Troopers board game out. (1980s) That is pretty good if you like board games and can get someone to play it with you.  IF you can even find it for a good price!

I thought she paled in comparison with Dina Meyer.  Now there is the only good thing about the movie.  Dina Meyers....... sigh.    :D

Mobile Infantry does the dying. Fleet just does the flying.

The first movie was great..

I haven't watch the 2nd or 3rd movie, but from the sound of things I shouldn't bother.

I've seen all 3 movies.  1 was grand in its cheesiness, 2 and 3 were pretty lame IMO.  At least 3 finally gave them power armor in the last 3 minutes of the freaking movie...  :furious

Denise Richards-  Yeah, she was pretty spectacular, but so was the chick that played Diz.  Couple that with the fact that Charlie Sheen has had his paws all over Denise, and she kinda comes in second place in my book. :(

The TV series was pretty cool though.  It was slightly more in line with the book, with most of the political stuff greatly subdued.  Explosions and bugs and shooting and stuff.
