Alright, I realise that im going to be killed with the wieght of the text of technical people i saw in the G-51 post about it.. but i agree with the person who said the above.. which i have named the topic.. and i agree with the technical guys to some degree.. the simulation has to be realistic.. but Not the simulation itself.. just the units have to be.. and who cares if they never saw combat.. a flight simulator is where the average person or experience civil pilot, such as myself   can have a go at flying planes he or she never would do in real life.. so for instance is someone wants a F-7 in the game.. so be it.. there cool.. there a plane.. they have wings and they fit the simulation fine.. let it be! as long as it flys realistic and is in the sence a simulation of the actual plane.. its perfect.. and its something WARBIRDS hasnt got..

Now for my recomendation which i fear will spark massive realistic and techinical argumentive chaos as to how i could even recomend this in a "WW II" simulation such as this.. right.. ... AREAS.. we need them.. so people which little experience who just want to have fun can do just that.. another where its strictly realistic with the right planes.. and one where they can just do what the hell they want.. fight with what the hell they want with what the hell they want.. but leave the game the same for all partys.. alright...

AIRWARRIOR 1.2.3, WARBIRDS 1.0+

what do they all have..
exactly what this sim has to SOME DEGREE
but they do not have ships.. and even tho AIRWARRIOR does have vehicals..but its about as realistic as shooting a pea at a 747 and seeing it explode.. ( dont get technical how that could happen)

the key is to be different.. have something different and at the same time.. be realistic

I propose the following planes to be added...
they may not be WW II .. but as i said .. thats when areas come in.. in some areas you could easyly block a user from entering with a plane that would not suit in that area.. when in others its just what the hell you want.. anyway

from WWII to Vietnam.. thats what we need...
(but not modern)

Bombers:

B-29 Super Fortress

(never been modeled in any simulation except FS98 and its time we put it in!

B-52 Stratofortress

(I realise its not a WW II plane, but it could be in a mixed plane area.. and again.. never been realisticly modeled in any simulation besides USNF'97.. even then it wasnt realistic and ACES HIGH needs it.. because no one else has it and its DIFFERENT!

S-2 Tracker

(as my name suggests its my favorate plane..) and NO simulation has ever modeled the mini of Anti Sub and ship warfare
its DIFFERENT.. and would be used alot in anti ship warfare and anti tank and vehical warfare.. being able to take off on short distances.. easy to fly and small.. not too modern but just fits the roll nicely with rockets, bombs and torpedoes

Mig/Sabre 15-17-86

Classic fighter of that period.. not much missile crap.. but good close combat with guns and speed.. a plane that warbirds doesnt have.. and in airwarrior its like flying every other plane!

AC-130A/U Spectre

only ever modeled in Janes USNF series.. not very realistic unless you like driving trucks in the sky..

modeled realisticly.. its a good addition to the ACES HIGH aircraft hanger.. its hellfire rockets, 20, 40 and 105MM cannons make short work of everything.. but the plane and pilot.. unlike so many other anti ship and anti tank planes.. has to be upclose and personal .. circleing the target.. the varient A.. used crew to fire guns at targets in apex to it.. firing a rain of bullets at anything.. close as u can get to flying artillery with the 104mm howtizer.. the U varient is more robotic in aiming.. having computer slaved and actuated guns.. good for the solo pilot who wants to fly his own plane into battle.. its ceramic armor making it a worthy and formitable target for any aircraft as well as ground or sea unit.. its speed makes it useable in any AREA.. any plane can take it down with the right possitioned shots... and just one of the other planes to make ACES HIGH different

SEAKING / SEAHAWK helicopter..

Simple.. ever seen a mixed sim like ACES HIGH have helicopters? No?.. well its time someone did..  the seaking and sea hawk are usefull for naval warfare and ground combat as well as transport.. just implement it just for the hell of it

well anyway.. thats all i can think of.. in a realistic perspective to make ACES HIGH unlike any other sim and also have better aircraft which are not too superior for WW II combat.. and all use close up and personal combat tactics..

Tracker521,
I believe the intent of HTC is to create a WWII flight-sim.  That is to say, a place where one can fly aircraft that flew in combat in WWII in an environment that attempts to simulate WWII.  This means a ground war complete with a logistical and industrial infrastructure for each side, though the focus will be in the air.

Though what you propose has merit it would be an expansion of a "bigger and better" WB, IMHO.  What I'm looking for, personally, is a damn good reason(forgive my swahili) to be flying a La-5FN, and to aid in a simulated WWII war effort is the one I'm looking for.

Puuh, I'd suggest getting good WWII simulator with close realism flight models in general and for planes, not some quick plane add-ons which flies like UFOs and are to be some kind of planes.

If talking of planes never modelled, theres lots of early war planes to go which I haven't seen getting much popularity..
I-16, I-153, Brewster, Morane saulnier, some Fiats, LaGG3, DB-3, Do17, He111, SB-2, Pe-2...... those planes would be intresting ones, E would really matter something and losing it wouldn't need only two seconds to regain.

Pfft.. have a look at the page before you put me down... and the planes where just a suggestion to differ ACES HIGH from warbirds.. to appeal to everyone.. im a hardcore WW II simulator pilot.. i dont really want to fly any of those planes all the time.. it would just be good to have them there as something different.. anyway nevermind

Understand your excitement Tracker,

Everyone is excited to see the world Playnet is building. But keep in mind that HTC and Playnet folks were the ICI crew that built WarBirds. They know each other, and if not friends, always respect the other's work. HTC is on time, on track, and on the money. Once again, HT and his crew have made a better sim. Playnet is shooting for the moon. Not just a sim, but a complete world at war, WWIIOL will be like nothing else that came before. But they have to prove it by making deadlines, accurate models, and a working arena. I'm hoping they do, but until then HTC is still the big dog in my book. Sic em Dale!

Not too superior?! Close up and personal??!! Notice the name: Stratofortress! The "BUFF" is faster, can carry many times more bombs and fly higher than anything that flew in WW2! What do I intercept it with? A "pilotable" V-2 rocket?!

If you want something different in Aces High, please suggest something just a little more relevant to the time period and "spirit" of the game.

speaking of payloads, isn't the 17G's off by about 14000lbs?

I realise not everyone flys the B-52 like i do in sims..
i forgot that some people actully use its speed and alt to there advantage.. as apposed to the way i fly it.. 20,000 feet max.. dive or fly at very low alt over a target and drop iron bombs.. pulling up before you an get caught in the blast.. fun as all hell.. but yeah.. i do see your point

and i do realise that talk of a veitnam simulation while where still getting the WW II bits fixed up is a major step forward.. but i still dont see why when made.. they cant be intergrated.. unrealistic as it may be.. it still will be fun.. altho i do prefer the realistic approach to things
