It must be nice being in Jr High and already have all the answers to life. Your train of thought, and kids like you, are the reason this country of ours is going down the road it is.

And let me clue you in on something son. In your 14 or 16 years of life on earth, you haven't lived though much of anything yet. I'd love to be around when you need spiritual strength and guidance and all you have to turn to is your science book. What an empty life you must lead. I feel sorry for you.
Lighten up Francis

My wife and I moved to Iowa because it'd be a good place to raise kids. When we got here, we learned about the stuff they call "meth". It's even in the Amish community now. It's truly sad to see young promising men and women totally ruining their lives on this crap.
If you're out there combating stuff like this, you have my deepest support and respect sir  :salute

I would not really label it as "combating" since I work in EMS, but I do have to contend with all the after effects of dumb arses using too much at once and using them for suicide and the one that makes me the maddest is the ones that use the same utensils from using to mix their baby's formula with (this one did happen too BTW).

Thanks for your respect and support but like the rest of you I am really only doing my job.

To begin the story, we had a team(football) event and we ate after. We decided to play basketball after we ate. Some people had to go do some things but we all met up. Few other people met up and soon we had a good 10-15 people there playing pick up basketball.

After a few hours later, a few more people show up. I was already tired and basketball is not a game I blessed to be able to play well. One guy pulls out his gun that hes showing to this one lady. Not pointing just showing. This other guy asks if anyone is wanting to get high, not me because I was sitting down on the fence watching people play. I had called my dad already to come pick me up from the courts but when I told him this. All he said is that now you can't even play basketball without someone having a gun or drugs on them.

I am not a drug user or dealer, or even experimented with alcohol. I understood early that if I want to get anywhere in the game that I love, football, that it will only break my  body down. Just wanted to get that clear.

I ask you all, have times changed or just a little worse than they used to be.
If you replaced the marijuana or whatever it was with tobacco & alcohol, and basketball with... something else, would you really expect to see anything different if you were to turn the clock back one or two hundred years?

Sure. I wouldn't see kids sitting in front of computer screens yelling, "PEW PEW PEW... I've got you silly German! DANG IT!! WHERE DID HE COME FROM?!?  *Pushes F12* You -squeak- freaking cheater! -squeak- -squeak- -squeak-...."

In addition, wife-ack was easily countered. :D

Well, as far as I know, they'd come out from the fields shouting "Wham!  Bam!  Feel my cold steel you Hun!  Ow!  SQUEEEEEK!

Unfortunately, Black Plague ack wasn't so easy to fix.

Fud I don't see anything wrong in that story. Sounds like a bunch of people were hanging out at the park/court and one guy was showing off his (new?) gun. No harm in that. While another guy asked if anyone wanted to get high. Presuming what it was a j then again no harm in that. As much as people want to cry about it marijuana is no more a drug then cigarettes or alcohol. I would see if the guy was waving his gun around threatening people or there was a dealer there selling actual drugs (the hard stuff).

The levels of pretentiousness in this thread are astounding...
