I would complain more about the runway warrior types than a pure breed Vulcher.

The guys that dive through ack to collide with the guy taking off or augering right next to you.  That is SKILLESS.  Or the ones that go head on down the runway and give a taxiing plane a gun solution.

The pure art of vulching is getting as many kills as possible with the least amount of ammo used.  I tend to let players get wheels up so that they believe there is still a tiny bit of hope of them getting a kill / breaking the cap.  Now holding down 3-4 uppers with a similar number of cappers does take some work.

Vulching is entertaining and enjoyable but it isn't everyones cup of tea.  If I couldn't back it up I wouldn't do it  :D

It is possible to break a vulch, but that is mostly based on the inadequacy of the vultures.   An A6M2 can start hard maneuvers extremely rapidly after take off.  Of course, going offensive in said A6M2 against almost anything you meet in Late-War requires a bit of skillessness on the part of the attackers.

Ever heard of "The legend of Y-29"?

Vulching = keeping planes grounded
Gets boring when nobody comes up and you get slammed by fighters commming from an other field.

... plus its harder for them to ditch :aok

I dont generally get into vulching, but if I'm in a 190F8 with rockets and someone is dumb enough to roll... just try and stop me :D

2) Fly from another field.

this is the correct answer btw...

Vulching is hard sometime xD, have you ever tried to keep an air field down w/ just you and your wingman? they have flaks everywhere, and ACKs? and planes constantly trying to take off? I'm telling ya it's a challange to keep that air field down and not get shot down by AAAs. Gotta try all kind of crazy split S, coming straight down at 400 knts and get a sec shot off b4 you gotta roll away to evade AAAs and the ground!

I will never understand why a player will make the choice to up from a vulched field and when they get killed, instead of upping from another field, they come to the board and ask us to change the game mechanics so they can up from a field being capped.

You want to stop the vulchers?  Remove yourself as a target by moving to another field or upping a GV and doing some ground-to-air work.

Unless of coarse it's a noe raid, a vulch fest is pretty easy to see coming. It usually starts when 1 or 2 come in, hit dar and get a few guns. They'll usually try to take out the VH. This is when you want to start getting alt. Especially if a big dar bar is growing.
CV attacks produce a good vulch fest too. Once I realize a CV is off shore I'll 1st look for a SB to see if I can get guns on it. If not, I'll up bombers from the next closest field and head that way.
The bottom line is, if you want to avoid the enemy vulching you, you have to take the fight to them. Too many people want to fly around their own field hoping the ack will protect them and when the ack is taken down, they become fish in a barrel.

If the enemy is already at your field jump in a field gun to check to base out first before just jumping in a plane and sitting on the runway. If you can get up, take something fast or something that turns good...or both. Stay low and get as fast as you can, make a slow climb away from the direction the cons are coming. Once you have enough speed and alt to engage, try baiting as many as possible to pull them away from the field so that more friendlies can get up to help you. Do not go for the HO shoots. It's important that you stay up as long as possible to allow for others to get up and defend. Always stay fast and keep your head on a swivel.
If you can't get up at all and the VH is down. Take off from the closest base and head to theirs. Try to put them in the position to defend. Also they'll be upping from there 1 by 1 which will allow you to engage them as they'll be low and slow.
Lighten up Francis

Vulching is the sport of kings. And a fighter sitting on rearm pad is the most noble game you can slay.

I think a FM2 would be perfect for this role, small agile and hard to bring down, while a zero if hit can be easily disabled.
