Any major sporting good store should carry the Flatfish or lazy Ike's, i get mine from a wholesale catalog thru my work, for Crappie i use Jigheads with 1 1/2 rubber tubes, color depends on the time of season but they go crazy for them, i can catch easily 15 to 40 an hour depending on the conditions but I'm selective on size, i like the meatier ones and throw everything else back even thou theres no size limit, i do it because its just good common sense and i only keep what I'm going to use

Caught a couple of those when I lived down by Galveston as a kid, not one that big, but even the little-ish ones we caught were serious fighters, and the teeth are menacing.  We always threw them back, it was only after I moved up here that I discovered that Wahoo are called Ono in Hawaii, the word ono meaning delicious.

It's official, I'm completely hooked on driftless spring creek trout.  The funny thing is it's totally opposite of what I expected.  I assumed that trout were difficult to catch, and wading would be easy.  It turns out that wading is super sketchy, and the fish are not as weary as I had expected.

First some scenery.

Now for the goods.
My PB so far a 17" Brown.

The weather here has been kinda sketchy the last couple days, and more rain forecast throughout the week.  Wasn't planning on getting much fishing in so I got myself a copy of A River Runs Through It.  Watched it early this AM and by the time I was done last nights thunderstorms had passed and the sun was out.  Thought the creeks might be muddied up a bit but said what the heck.  Caught a few fish, nothing special, and was about to pack it in when I was lucky enough to hook up with this little fella.

Unfortunately the pics didn't come out so hot, but that is a Tiger Trout.  A sterile cross between a male Brook Trout(which is actually a char) and a female Brown Trout(which is actually a trout).  While they are raised in hatcheries for stocking in some states they haven't been stocked in WI since the 70's. Supposedly a naturally occurring fish like this is quite rare, some of the local guys refer to them as "The fish of 100,000 casts".  I guess a little beginners luck never hurts.

Tight lines.
To each their pwn.
