Love listening to music while flying, it's much more rare for me not to... Unfortunately my music drowns out Vox and I think people have one way conversations with me because I can never seem to hear them over my music. On occasion I'll catch a bit of it and tell them to type if they want. This is actually to the extent that I never noticed Vox was broken until I read it on the forums.
As far as 80's music goes that I listen to with AH, all I can think of off the top of my head is Metallica, Ozzy, and Megadeth. Might point ya in the right direction.
