Updated Turn Radius List?
« on: June 11, 2010, 06:14:20 PM »
Maybe I'm a 'tard, but I cannot find the most up to date turn radius list for all AH aircraft with/without flaps.

Would anyone have that thread available?

Thanks!

AFAIK there is no such list... at least none that has been updated in the last three years. The last ones were made by Kweassa et al, so planes like F4U-1A, P39s and later ones are not included.

Use Badboy's method of testing....I'd do it but I can't stop playing long enough.

either use badboy's BootStrap calculator ( he recently posted a new updated link to it in the Help & training section )

or use Spatula's Aces High II Aircraft Comparision Tool, which is currently version 2.0 I believe.......

it is similar to Badboy's except only shows no flaps or full flaps.. I think spatula uses Kweassa & Mosq's old speed data though....only newer models since those original data numbers were gathered have more updated info/data....

Badboy's is based on Excel Spread sheet with formulas pre-inserted.....  you MUST READ the pdf guide that goes with it to understand how to fully use it..... ( if you don't have Microsoft Excel, you can get OpenOffice for free , it will also work with Badboy's spreadsheet...... )

Spatula's Performace Tool utilizes  Microsoft's .NET Framework, so you need to have all your .NET patches installed on your MS OS...... if you don't mind using the .NET stuff.....

hope this helps.....

use badboy's BootStrap calculator:

It now includes graphics for one and two circle fights for both sustained and instantaneous turns. The graphs can be edited for personal preference and copy and pasted for use on the boards.

Download Badboy's BootStrap Calculator

Also, for anyone who wants to analyse the flap performance the two circle graphic window includes the first 6 aircraft on the list. That way you can either compare six different aircraft, or one aircraft with six different configurations (flap settings). It also allows you to enter the maximum flap speeds, and checks to see whether the maximum turn rate achievable in that configuration will be limited by the flap speed, G limit or lift limit and quotes appropriate values. When the flap notch is set to zero it calculates corner data in the normal way.

If you load the lower cells with aircraft data, you can then copy and past rows into the top slots so you can get graphic comparisons for any aircraft combinations.

I've loaded it with data for the P-38L and BF109K4 so you can play with it from the get go.

Thanks! Awesome system. Kudos to Badboy.

Regarding Spatula's comparison charts, I first played at Version 2.06... I hope the planes haven't changed TOO much since then.
