im hearing all these little rumors every now and then saying that you (hitech) are going to put submarines in the game. personally i think it would be a great addition to the game, but im thinking there might have to be bigger maps, or possibly just a whole other arena (like the da). i am for sure going to say that there will be alot of complaints and disagreements with this topic and with the idea of submarines. well if you are going to put submarines in id like to know what kind and the details and descriptions on the submarines. for everyone who is reading this (just for fun) what submarines would you like to see in the game if we are getting them?

Ive got GWX mod'd Silent Hunter 4.  Thats all I need.  But if HTC wants to add submarines then I'd be more than happy to sortie one out for S&Gs.

I think Hitech has said in the past he would like to add subs.  I can't remember but I think he said his father was in them?

Clearly, you'd need the venerable TypeVII, though Gato and Type XXI would be the late war monsters.

This'd clear up, I'd add, some of the other rumors about some of the players. We'd finally find out who really goes down just to get a kill.

if you add subs, your going to have to add Destroyer that can roam free with player control to hunt the subs

That' and the destroyer make damn good extensions.

We'd also need local carrier-based subkillers to deefend the CV groups. 

And what about detection? Clearly, there'd be potential for visual detection when the sub is surfaced or shallow but what about sonar?

wow thats amazing my grand father was in ww2 in the pacific area. <S> to your father. and you said you want to add subs, may i ask when do you plan on putting them in, and are you working on them now or anytime soon?
