SEEING bugs in new RADAR set-up
« on: June 24, 2010, 06:28:36 PM »
OK.me and DAKone did some experimenting in-game..Here is the conclusion we came up with...Oh,and we were over water..

DAR DOT shows in ring at an ACTUAL 60 feet,NOT 65.......dots gone at 55
DAR BAR still shows at 500.......and sometimes higher.
One time,I was looking for his and when it would show, and he got up to 1100 feet, and still I saw no dar BAR......Then when I bailed went to tower,I could then see it...

OI had others from my side, look for my dar above 500 feet and thery couldnt see it either...

Something odd is going on,and I know that it would sure be nice to have a stabilized base-line to work off of...

                                                         TY,
                                                              Falcon23 :salute

How often does the game refresh the locations of other people on radar?  I think that may be the kicker.

I will ask the same question I have asked in another thread. What part of the aircraft is considered above DAR top middle bottom?

Radar refresh is set to 2 per HiTechs post about the LW settings.

IIRC that is 2 seconds.

That seems pretty quick to me.. I can't recall having seen dots refreshing / moving every 2 seconds  :headscratch:

Yup. I just used my timer in LWB, dots were updating every 10 seconds.

Dude, stay under 65 feet!!
If sea level is 0 feet & 65 feet is max before you give your self away then would the very top of the highest point of you aircraft have to be below that cap?

If so depending on the height of the aircraft your flying you would need to be at a height different to a smaller aircrafts height to stay below 65 feet :headscratch: I guess. So what is the portion of the plane that will determine if radar is alerted or not.

it is giving one away at 60 feet...and darbar is intermittent at times as far as height.,at least when tested today.

Simple answer: The one your altimeter is showing. As long as your altimeter is showing less than 65 (or better:60), you are golden. You don't really need to know what part of your plane has to be below dar alt.
The radar is using the same number as a reference as your altimeter is.

This is wrong..the radar is showing DOTS at 60 ...
