Scroll bar Jumping
« on: July 05, 2010, 10:00:34 PM »
Would like the scroll bar fixed, if possible, on the radio bar, and on this forum.

*For the in-game radio bar - When you try to scroll down, the bar resets to the top everytime someone else enters the room/channel. Would be nice if it stayed put, so you could read who all is in the room.

*For the forum - When typing a message larger than the box, after every typed letter/space input, the scroll bar resets to the top, so you have to stop writing to scroll down and check what you have written. Would be nice again if it stayed in place so you could see your writing as you typed.

That's a problem with your web browser. If you're using IE7 or 8 you need to add these forums to the "compatibility view" setting. It's under tools, compatibility view.

Gotta luv Microsoft for having a web browser that allows sites to get away with sloppy web programming and design to begin with...and luv 'em even more for changing things so that same sloppiness now causes strange behavior.

Emphasis.   :D

Correct me if I'm wrong (again).

Someone asks HTC to correct a problem with a jumping scroll bar.

You point out it's not HTC, it's their browser, it their computer, in their house, that is the problem and how to correct it.

Someone else asks HTC to correct a problem with a jumping scroll bar caused by Microsoft's browser.

I don't see how HTC can fix a problem with Microsoft's browser.  And, you have already explained how the person posting can fix it themselves.

Just pointing out the obvious.

You can scroll down on the in-game radio?????

wrongway, I believe the +1 was for the in-game radio which I don't believe would be influenced by Internet Explorer bug. I could be wrong though.

Well I don't plan on changing browsers, so I'll have to deal with the forum, but I think that the radio bar can be fixed, and is not affected by browser.

TJ you don't have to change browsers just set your IE to view forums in compatibility view following the quoted instructions.

As far as the radio is concerned though, I did not know you could scroll through the chatter.

You can't. What I'm talking about is the list of everyone who is in channel/range. Called it 'radio bar' for lack of a better word.

Ah hah I see. I never really noticed that but i still can't see how that would be affected by the web browser.

The radio roster box isn't affected by the browser.  It appears to auto-refresh anytime a player enters or leaves the roster for that radio freq (like range).  If there are lots of names to display, as you scroll through the list to see who's on, it will snap back to the top when the list updates.  Perhaps adding a refresh button like the arena roster has would be a good idea.
