Even though it was 37 degrees and raining when I hit the launch (weathermen called for 0% chance of precipitation), I got out bass fishing for the first time yesterday.
Did ok, little over 20 bass in about 4-5 hours. Caught them on KVD jerkbait and a Red Eye Shad. Although I lost the brand new Red eye Shad, 2 casts after catching a baby pike. Got to watch it fly away as my line broke on a cast. Damn pike must of partially severed it.
Have to remind myself to retie after catching those buggers.
This one was the biggest of the day. It's not very big, but I was fishing Honeoye Lake (one of the Finger Lakes) which is known for lots of fish but not many with size. After a long winter I just wanted to catch 'em.
10 day forecast looking pretty crappy not sure when I'll get out again. Come on it's almost freaking May!
