Finding parts for that real shouldn't be too difficult.  If it's only a couple years old you can possibly get them right from the manufacturer, if it's older just try googling.  I managed to find a bail spring for a 30 year old Abu.

None of the codes or the reel name could be found on google or the Quantum. A friend of mine has Emailed Quantum and I hope we can get a reply soon.

Might've been a limited edition, who knows?

Well, Its out of the fishing here in Scotland, so in order to remain sane (Ish) i shall post a small AAR that makes me chuckle every time..

I was out fishing for Mackerel one day with my brother. We were going off a pier so we knew the day was going to be good. Sure enough, 5 minutes in with feathers and weight, BANG, a brace of nice looking Mackerel! Bang, my brother is in. Bang I'm in. Good day. 1/2 hour fishing, our combined total is about 20 so far.
Well, as luck strikes, I get a dry spell. My brother is sitting there reeling them in, I get Nada. Same place fishing, same depth same everything, Mackerel just don't like me now. Brothers total goes up to about 50, I'm sitting there on a now measly looking 10. By this time we've filled the car and started throwing them back.
I'm starting to get a bit depressed watching my brother pulling in a brace of good mackerel with every cast while I'm getting nothing, when suddenly BANG.

What a take, didn't feel like three, just the one huge one. Jams the reel and almost pulls the rod out of my hand! Sheesh, this is a big momma! I start slowly reeling her in, and my brother is staring at me in disbelief at the trouble I'm having.
Well, she runs, so I let a bit of line out (Never had to do that before when sea fishing) and then I start pulling her in. I'm getting pretty tired with the energy needed to hold her, but she's coming. Slowly but surely. After about 5 minutes, she's getting in reasonably close, I'm starting to look for her, when she makes another run.

SPLASH

My brother just looks at me and says 'What the F you got there! A huge Blinking Cod???' Well, I had no idea, but that was a huge jump! Suddenly I feel the line start to rise! She's going to jump again! I look out vainly, waiting to see her with Bated breath! Here she comes! She's jumping!

A Gannet surfaces.

????????????????????

Well, the Gannet goes Airborne, and my line starts to rise. Suddenly I spy a big fish in the bloody birds mouth! The Bstrd has got my fish!!!!!!

Well, off goes the Gannet and my line snaps!

I gave up after That, didn't have the heart to keep fishing. My brother only stopped laughing when we got home, he almost collapsed on the pier with laughter!
Looking back, it's hilarious! Worst luck, because it was a big fish I had on. Just wish I had had her for MY supper!

To sum up, Gannet  :ahand to Macleod!

By chance do you still have the paperwork that came with the reel?  Usually they have a diagram showing how everything goes together and the part numbers.  What model is the reel?

I know how to find parts, but I can't. I have no clue where the box is, it was on my shelf about a month ago and I haven't messed with anything. It is just gone.

I've looked everywhere but if you think you can do anything else:
Code on the Reel butt_FRONT PART: QX20F
Code on the Reel butt_BACK PART: L5
Code inside the reel handle: HP8 009 045 00-4

The gear ratio has long since been rubbed off by use. I'll take the thing apart and see what I can find on the parts

You're right cant find anything on that exact model, but a lot of parts are interchangeable between reels.  My money is on part 16 in this schematic http://www.mikesreelrepair.com/schematics/albums/quantum/Quantum_BR20F.pdf.  Part number GH034-01 still available from Quantum.  For the whopping price of 10 cents I think it's worth a try at least, a lot cheaper than a new real anyways.

Now there is another problem. The spool body will spin but it acts like there is no resistance. I could literally make it go for a couple of minutes if the bail wouldn't come flying off. I don't even know what I did. All the parts that I know of are in the reel except for the one I am having trouble with. Guess I have to go looking around on the ground.

So I was about 14 years old and wandering around the ponds on my family land outside of Miniola, Texas. There are loads of large ponds across the property. Anyways I am walking around with my fishing pole one morning stopping at each pond and casting around different lures catching several small bass along the way. I decided to try something different and caught a live grasshopper. I baited a hook and cast it into the water. My first cast went about 20 feet out into the water. I reeled it in slowly but nothing. Then when the bait was about three foot from the shore line there was a huge splash.. It took me all of about three seconds to get this monster sized largemouth bass onto the shore. I carried this huge bass all the way home which was about 3/4 of a mile just to prove that I caught a monster. By the time I got home I was having a hard time carrying this beast, my folks were amazed at the mighty bass. This monster bass weighed in at just under 12lbs. I had a polaroid picture of this monster that I kept for many years. I lost it somewhere down the line, but I will never forget that morning or that monster largemouth.. The head of this bass was bigger than mine.. It is to this day the best fish I have ever caught and I have been an avid fisherman since I was about 10 years old, so it's been about 22 years of fishing. I have caught much larger fish of different species but I am a bass fisherman at heart. Anyways thats my big fish story lol.  :salute

They don't make the type of Quantum reel anymore. If I can't find replacement/similar parts, I'll make the reel into a trophy. It caught my first Crappie AND my first Muskie with it. Countless other fish, too.

I've already oiled my reels, re-spooled them, cleaned the poles and here is what I have for this coming season (without my Quantum  :cry :pray).
1. Shakespeare ultralight spinning reel and rod. 6lb Mr. Crappie fluorescent yellow mono line.
2. Browning baitcast reel with medium-light Shimano rod (The Shimano reel keeps backlashing, I have to fix it, too.) 8lb Spiderwire Green mono.
3. Shakespeare spinning reel and rod, 10 lb test Spiderwire (which is replacing my Quantum for now.)
4. And for catfish (Which I rarely fish for), Heavy action pole and reel combo. 20lb test mono with Snap swivel.

Bring it on, fishies.  :t

No need, Flench. Just went and bought a new reel. It was time the old one was retired, anyhow. 6 years of solid, tireless use had its effects.
