Well, Its out of the fishing here in Scotland, so in order to remain sane (Ish) i shall post a small AAR that makes me chuckle every time..
I was out fishing for Mackerel one day with my brother. We were going off a pier so we knew the day was going to be good. Sure enough, 5 minutes in with feathers and weight, BANG, a brace of nice looking Mackerel! Bang, my brother is in. Bang I'm in. Good day. 1/2 hour fishing, our combined total is about 20 so far.
Well, as luck strikes, I get a dry spell. My brother is sitting there reeling them in, I get Nada. Same place fishing, same depth same everything, Mackerel just don't like me now. Brothers total goes up to about 50, I'm sitting there on a now measly looking 10. By this time we've filled the car and started throwing them back.
I'm starting to get a bit depressed watching my brother pulling in a brace of good mackerel with every cast while I'm getting nothing, when suddenly BANG.
What a take, didn't feel like three, just the one huge one. Jams the reel and almost pulls the rod out of my hand! Sheesh, this is a big momma! I start slowly reeling her in, and my brother is staring at me in disbelief at the trouble I'm having.
Well, she runs, so I let a bit of line out (Never had to do that before when sea fishing) and then I start pulling her in. I'm getting pretty tired with the energy needed to hold her, but she's coming. Slowly but surely. After about 5 minutes, she's getting in reasonably close, I'm starting to look for her, when she makes another run.
SPLASH
My brother just looks at me and says 'What the F you got there! A huge Blinking Cod???' Well, I had no idea, but that was a huge jump! Suddenly I feel the line start to rise! She's going to jump again! I look out vainly, waiting to see her with Bated breath! Here she comes! She's jumping!
A Gannet surfaces.

????????????????????
Well, the Gannet goes Airborne, and my line starts to rise. Suddenly I spy a big fish in the bloody birds mouth! The Bstrd has got my fish!!!!!!
Well, off goes the Gannet and my line snaps!
I gave up after That, didn't have the heart to keep fishing. My brother only stopped laughing when we got home, he almost collapsed on the pier with laughter!
Looking back, it's hilarious! Worst luck, because it was a big fish I had on. Just wish I had had her for MY supper!
To sum up, Gannet
to Macleod!
