I can get pretty much most of my fishing gear (I always carry way too much lol) and the seat on it looks like it would be comfortable for extended use.

Will be getting paddles with it as well (no reverse gear doh)

  It sure looks nice,the seat is something!! Being able to raise it up when you're not moving is a real bonus but I saw the weight and went WTF 138 pounds rigged,and I assume thats with out the fishfinder and associated battery.

 I think if I was going to have something that heavy I'd want the option for a trolling motor. Do you really need a Kayak? Or wouldnt something else work? I know they make all sorts of "little" bassboats,poly flat bottomed and you can carry a cooler and trolling motor with ease. Wont be a whole lot heavier either.

NICE set up Red . Have you ever turned it over . I have never been in one I have not turned over but that was the ones you rent on the Black river . Never been in one like yours . Why get one that set's on top ?

Nope...I haven't turned it over...but I don't get all nuts in it either...I've caught several bass in the 6-9 pound range in it and been pulled around in it til I got them landed...its great fun.

I got the Sit On Top for ease of getting to stuff...It allows movement easily and I feel less restricted. Plus if I take a notion to stand in it its much easier to do as well. Although I don't do that. lol

Its comfortable...hang my legs over the side and just relax at times...its pretty stable.

Headed out tommorow with my buddie Carl, Fluke season started a month ago and ive yet to get out....Decided that id take off tommorow, and hit the water
 
He had a charter out on Monday and nailed this slob.....Now a big fluke is 5lbs     The one pictured here is 13lbs (12.6) and 31"+   a true Doormat of a fish...



It actually made the paper up his way......I love the advise Carl gave the young man that caught it  :lol

That article was so very strange, I couldn't tell if it was a bad attampt at humour or not. 

Capt. Carl DiMenna of Wet Dreams from Baker's Marina on the Bay was having a tough day finding stripers for the Mark Neff party from Pa. when Morgan Neff hooked up with a clam on the clam beds off Sandy Hook and shocked everyone by reeling in a doormat fluke that weighed 12.6 pounds at Julian's Tackle in Atlantic Highlands.

Just poor writing....Carls charter business is called Wet Dreams Sportfishing..... the kid was hooked up with a clam (ie a claim on his hook for bait) and they were fishing over an area called "the clam beds"..It was weighed in at Julians Tackle.....

Lets just say the reporter is a ways off from winning a Pulitzer

If your ever up this way, let me know, hes a good friend, and by far the best charter capt out there imho

I am going to try and hit the pier in Pensacola next month . I hear the king fish are running good right now and I have not been down there in 3 year's . I use to hit it every year .

some yellow perch we caught last weekend

caught a bunch more that were much smaller, I hate cleaning tiny fish  :lol

All good points Morf, taken into account the overall weight. Still discussing with the wife, as she fishes as well - given we need to complete the house (got  a lot to do, new roof, new electrics, new kitchen etc) this is still going to be in the planning stage for a while lol..........so not made a firm decision as yet.

Always good to get info/opinions early - stops me prevaricating later kinda deal.

Next time keep some little ones and do a comparison.  I think the smaller perch taste way better than the mack daddies.

Nice pic . I don't guess we have purch down here in Mississippi . They don't look like Brim and those in the pic kind of look like a rock bass to me .

My Brother Inlaw and I are heading to Silverthorne, Colorado this weekend to fly fish. I've never used a fly rod before so this will be interesting.
