z6 it is, once I get it sorted, I'll post pics - Tec, you must be able to read minds brother - pretty much nailed what I said to the wife lmao.

Thanks all, much appreciated

Xavier, good call on the smaller boats and tight spots, that was one of the reasons I looked at the z6 in the first place.

Looks real nice, Jimmy  :aok

Noodling season just kicked in over here in Kentucky. Time to wrangle some hawgs  :D  If you noodle, don't do it near sand or woody banks. Beaver, muskrat, otter, snapping turtles and snakes are all much more likely in these areas than rip-rap (Big flippin rocks on the shore or under water- if you go to a lot of lakes, you know the stuff) which is easier to trap a catfish in anyway.

Happy hunting and retaining your fingers.

I'm going on a Mako trip in 2 weeks.   I'll have to give noodling a try :uhoh

If you're gonna lay out big coin for electronics the new Humminbird 360 setups look pretty sick, but I haven't got to see one in person yet.

Went out tonight for about 45 minutes before dark, got a few small bass and one average dogfish on frogs.  He was rocking his spawning colors and ready to get his freak on but the low light doesn't catch the colors very well.

Nice Tec - electronics I'm considering is the Lowrance Elite 7x HDI http://www.basspro.com/Lowrance-Elite-7x-HDI-Fishfinder/product/1210111021/?cmCat=CROSSSELL_PRODUCT

Console and bow pretty much. Think that may wait till I've had the boat a while (few months kinda deal)

Yea the Lowrance Elite series looks really great with the amount of features you get for the price.  I'm going to pick up an Elite 4X HDI for next ice fishing season and see how it does.

So, I picked up a second hand 23ft Pursuit with a single 225hp two stroke on the back.

Watch that engine drain your wallet.... :D

I got a new (for me) boat this year, 5m, 80hp 2-stroke, sucks gas down like a thai hooker.

I have already dumped $600 in gas into it, for two weekends of fun.  But the tank is still very full, won't need to fill it this weekend.

Of the three rods I inherited with the boat I only now have one left.  The big trolling rods were scoffed at by the guy who was called in to service them, he took one look and said "I am not a miracle worker....he died three months ago".  No idea who that was but shame.

The one we have left had the rod changed, the reel cleaned up and new line put on....and the guy has rigged it for reef fishing with two separate hooks.  I am going to buy another exactly like it.  Frankly there is no way I have the experience to catch huge tuna or Marlins anyway.  I'll stick to the reef fish.

Went and picked up a little 4hp engine for my punt yesterday and the guy told me my engine cowling is ready too.  Went and took a look...looks brand new except there are some plexi logos on the front and back that are cracked and to replace them would be crazy expensive.  I am just going to cover them with a couple of decals.

Whoop whoop.  Fishing here we come!

Picked up a crayfish trap the other day.  Went out tonight and put a dead bluegill and brick in it and stuck it between some logs.  Gonna go pull it about 6am hopefully there will be some bait/lunch in there.

Ordered my boat Tec, put pics in the "For the fishing guys" thread.

Nice deal on the crawfish - tails in garlic, chili and extra virgin olive oil is pure awesome.

Yea I saw her and she's a beaut.  I've only eaten crayfish a couple times and I want to try a boil, but the problem is they are literally the best bait on earth so it's gonna be hard to not use them as such.

I am totally paranoid about running out of gas or oil.  So much so that I tried to put another $300 in the boat this weekend and only got $150 in before it was full.  Put a bunch of oil in the resevoir and that was full too.

We went to go fishing and after 10 minutes my wife was moaning that we hadn't caught anything.  Holy lack of patience batman.  Can't go fishing with her any more.

A redneck with a bucket full of live fish, was approached recently by a game warden in Arkansas as he started to drive his boat away from a lake. The game warden asked the man, "May I see your fishing license please?" "Naw, sir," replied the redneck. "I don't need none of them there papers. These here are my pet fish."

"Pet fish!?!?"

"Yep. Once a week, I bring these here fish o'mine down to the lake and let 'em swim 'round for a while. Then when I whistle, they swim right back into my net and I take 'em home."

"What a line of baloney....you're under arrest."

The redneck said, "It's the truth, Mr. Gov'ment man. I'll show ya!
We do this all the time!!"

"WE do, now, do WE?" smirked the warden. "PROVE it!"

The redneck released the fish into the lake and stood and waited. After a few minutes, the warden said, "Well?"

"Well, WHUT?" said the redneck.

The warden asked, "When are you going to call em back?"

"Call who back?"

"The FISH," replied the warden!

"Whut fish?" asked the redneck.
