You are going to have to learn "SOUND" from the windows control panel out into the game now. If you do not know how to quickly setup your Mic and record your voice then play it back. Well you got bigger problems then this new Miles sound system. In some cases you probably through windows need to up the reocord vomume for your voice. Many of my squad mates tonight sounded like they were whidpering and left their settings where they were without testing offline.

Experiment inside of windows lowereing or raising your playback and record volumes. In the game remember that the Master volume reduces all sound equaly and the individual specificaly. Wow a MIXER. In voice check how your slider for muteing games sounds is set so you can just hear environment sounds but VOX comes through clear. Thats the one that lowers game sound while someone is speaking.

If you are using a headset for your speakers set everything for speakers to head set. Experiment with the TOTALY NEW SOUND SYSTEM before you whine. Then speak to HiTech and company if you need help. If you are using speakers or headphones to hear the game but using a seperate MIc, you may deed to up its recording volume in Windows or move it closer to your mouth.

I've flown in a few old airplanes, they are very noisy and flaps and gear dont always have sounds over the engine. Why else do you have indicators for wheels and flaps up and down? Directional sound requires at minimum a stero headset fro what I can tell.

As i wrote, there is a sound file into AH settings folder not into AH folder. That one is a resource file.
The file content i posted can be viewed by a simple text editor like notepad.

I tried to maunually change each sound in the list and it doesn't. I set them all to 0.000000 and it still did nothing.

That list is the old sounds Kaz, I wouldn't expect it to do anything.

Boy, I see a few Skuzzy might drop the PNG hammer to,lol. A few posts on the BBS here are really close to the "slam dunk"- beINg disrespectful. As with every change to the game, there will be issues that will get sorted out by HTC in time. BeINg sarcastic or disrespectful is not going to do anythINg but get the wrath of Dale or Skuzzy workINg. I won't complaIN, because whININg about somethINg I can't fix will do no good. It's good to give HTC INput, but not IN a demandINg way.

What i want to do is to take each sound and  re-calibrate it by sound recorder.

Lower general volume and effect volume could be a good compromise too
but not so optimal as before.

I undersatand that but I DO use speakers, not a headset, and I'm afraid that if I even try the new version, HT will decide to dump the new sound system again for further work, then I'll lose all my individual sound settings for the old system.  Just trying to hedge my bets and wait a few patches.

My thoughts exactly.  I can wait a while if I can't stand the new settings (with messing with the small adjustments that can be made within the game).  I'd sure hate to have to re-download the game if I jack something up in the AH folders (limited bandwidth).

The new map layouts are so convaluded that no-one knows where the previous objects to drop are.  Nothing looks like it did yesterday so you can be looking to drop ords and kill troop barracks instead.

But i hate this new sound option
Did anyone have a problem with the old one?
And everytime ive brought this up ive gotten 3 responses
1) GET USED TO IT OR QUIT! which i think is stupid, we're the ones pay $15 a month and it seems all of us (or most of us) want the old one back
2) ITS REALISTIC ok, it is realistic, but we also have p51 attacking b17's and one type of carrier and shermans shooting at other shermans and if the games supposed to be realistc than what the heck is a rook???
3) its noob friendly

Rios, the sound system was changed to accommodate NEW sounds they plan on adding down the road. Once the new sounds are in having 150 sliders (just a guess) to adjust sounds is NOT newb friendly. Give it a little time for them to get it sorted out.

BaldEagl, what your seeing is the vocal minority pissing and moaning. Turn sound down and all is fine, learn to read the clip board map which took all of 15 sec's to memorize the base layout and all is fine. Or you can take the other road, act like a little girl because your to lazy to open a map and learn you can't take out a base with 2 sets of lancs any more. which took a bumbling squad of morons 8 sets before the update so now they need to recruit 8 more people so maybe they can kill the base with 16 sets.

I am just impressed that you memorized the base layouts in 15 seconds. Spent all night and still havent memorized them...
