« on: March 16, 2001, 01:36:00 AM »
 http://www.reactorcritical.com/files/Test/3DMark2001.exe

Im 97% done downloading it, will post my results.

So far from hardware sites forums the radeon guys are getting the best scores, followed by the Geforce2 cards and FAR behind goes the Voodoo5500.

This new benchmark takes advantage of the latest technology on DirectX8 so if you want to make your system HURT, download this benchmark.

Ok I downloaded.

Its amazing. But like I expected, It really put my system to work hard.

But its pure joy to put on DEMO MODE, and looking what the near future of gaming will be. Totally cool, wait till you see those trees, they look like diddlying movies.

Anyways, here is my score on this system:

Asus A7V 1006 BIOS
Duron 700 @ 1Ghz 100Fsb
256mb PC133 SDRAM CAS2
GeForce2 GTS 32Mb 6.50 Det. Drivers
ATA/100 7200 20Gb hard disk
Windows 98 SE with latest updates

All latest drivers, system tweaked to near perfection. Score:

1024x768 at 32Bit colors (default benchmark)

2486 3DMarks

Alright people, go ahead and download it. Those with low end systems will weep.

Ya, those turkeys would release a new benchmark after I have spent a month of more gathering data from the 3DMark2000 benchmark.
Sigh,..I knew it was coming, but I was hoping it would have been a few more months.

Back to the drawing board.

933p3
128 133rdram
gelforce pro 256 32mb
ATA/100 7200 20Gb hard disk
Windows 98 SE

This is a Dell system , don't know mobo .

1810 with 7.52 drivers   lol

Nothing is overclocked but
I used Lep's site to setup pc . Plus
Norton's Utilites , speeddisk etc , this
seems to really speed up apps loading .

Animal , it's everything you said and more . Damn the demo is way cool . The shells flying in the air and as you say the trees and grass blowing in the wind is awesome .

Man that benchmark made my pc mini lockup , the first time I ever seen that on this system . Tells me that the benchmark should live for some time

1482 3Dmarks here.. 1024x768x32 default bench.

Celeron667@901
Abit BH6
256Mb CAS3 (!)
Geforce256 SDR (Elsa erazor X) not oc'd
Elsa reference drivers, latest.
DX8.0a
Swap management tweaked.

I'm going to upgrade to KT133A + Tbird soon, however this is a pretty nice result from my trusty workhorse =) That ErazorX has served me well for years.

1.06 Aces high runs 59fps for me with 1024x768 32bit.

3D2000 Benchmarks
 1)933 P3 Geforce 1 = 5310
 2)500 P3 3Dfx 3500 = 2192

3D2001 needs Direct 8.0  didn't want to try 8.0 yet... everything running fine.

Are 2001 scores different then 3D2000?

airspro you should be getting a much higher score.
are you running the default benchmark? you should tweak that system or something

did you forget to disable FSAA?

you should get scores similar with mine, or even a bit higher

and I am currently getting about 2750 score.

Yep ran the all the test in default . I do have FSAA off .

Last night couldn't get into AH so .

Went back to the 6.50 driver and the 2001 benchmark went to 1826 , the 7.52's were 1810 .

6.50 had a worst test in the 2000 benchmark buy around 220 points . But better in 2001 , they must be better in 32 bit maybe ?

Well Animal this stuff is pretty new to me , but reading a bit more etc on it all . Interesting   I have been seeing there's some tweak progams but havn't tried or read on them too much yet . Do you know which one works the best and is the safest to use ?

I did do all of Lep's tweak's on his web site , plus use speed disk . That really seemed to help .

Me be thinking that the AMD chip does the job alot better , I havn't the smarts yet to build a system so I bought the best I could find but it was early last summer .

When running the benchmark 2001 I though the system was locking   , nope it's part of the shooting , hehe on me , they lock on target then shoot . Man sometimes I can be stupid

3DMark 2001 score= 3830 and yes when you consider my 3Dmark 2000 score was 9170 i think you can safely say its a lot different.
Btw for me the 10.80 drivers were a couple of hundred points faster than 7.52's

I went from a score of 2869 to 3090 when I went from the Nvidia 6.5 to the 10.8 drivers.  No change in the Aces High benchmark though.
