Im staying with 11.00 drivers right now...
Now I got all resolutions that the monitor can support

So far best 3d mark 2001 results too..  1234 pts, nice abcd style results.

Frost,
Download the 11.00 drivers they are much faster and stable than the 10.8 according to many sources.

My score went from 2700+/- (with 6.50) to 2900+/- (with 11.00)

and FAR behind goes the Voodoo5500
Well 1GHz TB + V5 = 1,777... It is a cumulative result (out of 16 tests) and taking into account that only 12 of those are actually supported by hardware methinks that V5 has got a lot more to give for what it's now worth.

The test results might actually be quite misleading as it is not showing what each test is contributing to overall result...

Lynx, true, the V5 is a nice card for its price, but it doesnt offer much value in time. It wasnt designed with the future in mind and with 3dfx gone, they cant optimize drivers for Dx8 (like these sweet 11.00 drivers for my geforce)

I plan on having my GF2 until games run slow and there is something like a Geforce 3 Ultra or whatever they plan to release in a few months

Downloaded and installed 11.0 drivers for my Geforce2 card. So far my results are 2689 with the 6.50 drivers, 3090 with the 10.80 drivers and 3204 with the 11.0 drivers.  Unfortunately all this only added 3 FPS to my Aces High benchmark, but every little bit helps.

So far from hardware sites forums the radeon guys are getting the best scores, followed by the Geforce2 cards and FAR behind goes the Voodoo5500.

Actually 2001 has a bug where it will not identify a 3dfx card or chip so benchmarking can't really be done yet for Voodoo owners...

Actually 3dfx put out drivers for DX8 in November of 2000.. this may be optimized or just certified but not sure, but the Voodoo 5 does have DirectX 8 drivers

Sorry should post my 3dMark2000 benchmark..

AMD Athlon 850

Voodoo 5 5500 Agp
HP Box <blush>

Hey Bane,
Please post the default benchmark score at 32bit; thats the standard everyone tries to run for comparison.

Yes, 3dfx released drivers that work for DX8, but the card was not optimized for the API. The Geforce has some minor features that work on it, but remember that the v5 was designed as a fill rate monster that would work for present games in mind.

I agree on this approach 3dfx took since when the games taking full advantage of Dx8 will not come out in a while, and then we will not be running V5's or Geforce 2 or 1 (I hope I wont be)

It should take a year or more for us to see game with the visual quality in the forest seen in the 3dmark benchmark

Hey 214th.. I have the same cpu chip but 2001 won't detect any of the information such as socket type and so on   Guess I need to hit the help boards and see whats goin on..

It wont run with Hardware T&L because V5 has no hardware T&L
