Squad MOTD doesnt display when logging in

Squad MOTD doesnt display when logging in.

and is therefore useless. pls fix :)

thats not how it should work, MOTDs display automatically when you log in.

1. Ive only tested it in LWO, LWB and DA.

2. Squad CO is batfinkv, although I have full rights in this squad (invites etc.) and can succesfully upload the MOTD or type it in. it does display when you go to the Tower -> O'Club -> Squads etc. to view it.

3. AFAIK Squad MOTDs have never popped up on login in the same way as HTC Staff's MOTDs in the MAs or the CM's MOTDs in the SEAs.


ty for noticing this, it would be a really useful fix so we can keep squaddies updated with SDL match dates, Squad nights, new squaddie announcements etc. (not all my squaddies have time to check the forums daily.)

I'm a walk-on with USMC/71 for FSO in SEA1. I can't think of a time the squad motd did pop up on entry and I've been attending FSO more than a year.
Now the host CM always has a event related MOTD up but I assume the squad one would display when the other one was closed.

When I have uploaded a Squad MOTD it has been from a .txt file in my AH folder. This has not worked.

BUT

When I have been flying FSO, the quick type message a CO can type in game without the .txt file has popped up.

Thanks for bringing this up..when I first started about 5 years ago,it DID auto pop up in the squad I was in..We really need this to work again..it is a great squad communication tool.

my squad motd pops up automagically everytime.
it even pops up in another window if theres already an arena motd.

i am official co of our squad, and the only one who uploads motd (kvuo75.txt)
 

only difference i notice is you are not the co.. maybe that has something to do with it, even though it shouldn't.

edit the text file in notepad, save it in the AH folder as "kvuo75.txt"


go into arena, into o club, squads, click on upload squad motd button.

thats it!
