Meh, I've never seen a tournament bracket set up like that before.  Usually it's set up the 1 seeds play the worst seeds, but obviously that is no good for this.  I think random matchups are the best.

Usually, these sort of seeding systems are just designed so that the very best players don't meet in the early rounds and eliminate each other.

I was considering signing up, but I'm so new at this, I doubt I'll last 10 seconds against even the worst players.  If you need bodies though, I'll show up and fly.

Man, I'm not any good either, but these are great fun, and really excellent learning opportunities.  Even if you get totally owned, you have the film to study of a pure 1v1 fight, no MA interferences, and your opponent at your disposal.  Usually guys will stick around with you and fight a few more.  If they completely dominated you, most guys are good enough dudes that they'll gladly help you out or let you pick their brains.  I guarantee if you participate in a couple of these you'll get better every time.  And last but not least, you can meet some really great guys that you didn't know before.  I met Changeup in this past duel, and he's one of my favorite guys to fly with nowadays.  It's absolutely worth getting into, you'll have a great time!

I like to think that this event helps to encourage people to improve their ACM and ultimately give them the skills to be able to enter a fight in the MA with confidence in their ability to at least give their opponent a good go if not win the fight.

I also like to think that the better pilots who participate are willing to share their knowledge with others in order to improve he quality of competition in the MA's.

I might be wrong but that's what I like to think.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

I don't mind getting owned, at all, it's just a game and I don't expect to be great right away.

I'm trying to think of a way to say this that doesn't make me sound like a jacka*s:   I was not sure if this is sort of a 'best of the best' type of tournament, and perhaps I should hold off participating until I can at least hold my own against an "average" stick (whatever that means).

If no one minds, I'd be happy to have a go at it.

That is clearly not the case here roadblck.

Last tourney I was pitted against the tourney winner and eliminated first fight. Having made it to the finals and semi finals in past tourneys I think it is accurate, and not boastfull, to consider myself as difficult to fight as anyone who signs up. Therefore i think your fears are unwarrented. Many of the top duelers face each other in the early rounds. Even if you get a 'top stick' don't panic. Anything can happen in three quick fights. Everyone has good and bad days. Just play, the worst that can happen is you make one new dueling partner.
And I don't know much, but I do know this. With a golden heart comes a rebel fist.

I die all the time, hoping to do a little better this time. It's really fun and you get to meet the best sticks in the game.

Nah man..sure there are some good sticks that sign up, but this is an all ages gig.....KOTH is the best of the best comp. No body would mind at all ...sign up ...nothing ventured nothing gained  :salute

Just realized the official "sign me up" format is to post in-game and bbs names.

In my case, they are the same.  Roadblck/Roadblck.
