We grading historical accuracy here? Because we don't live in the Gibsonverse.  Braveheart was great but a travesty of history, on a par with Pearl Harbor as far as distortions go. Patriot wasn't as good but it also glossed over a lot of the details.  "We're not slaves!" yeah, right, sure....

"Saving Private Ryan" got almost everything right and is probably my Number One.

"Platoon"

"The Dirty Dozen"

Letters from Iwo Jima

The Longest Day

Apocalypse Now

Zulu (also badly inaccurate, but a good action film)

and not to forget the film that redefined the image of the U.S. Military:
