two hours straight
« on: September 23, 2010, 08:56:19 PM »
and not whatcha think.

logged into AvA tonight. fought n died for friggin TWO hours straight. all low alt fights. it's rangers twin rivers map again. almost all of the fights were well below 5k alt. no picking, no ho'ing, no foofy faced bs(sorry rammey....i like that term  :rofl), just bunch of guys flyin n dyin. sucking weeds and trees into my intakes.
i had to get out of my 38g for a bit, as i couldn't hit water if i fell out of a boat in her tonight. jumped into the rustbucket(p-40), and made em work harder to kill me.
corky would be proud of one of his SAPP'rs spreading so dam many cartoon parts over the cartoon landscape.

there were a couple of other guys in there, that didn't seem to have flown there before.....and they had only good to say.

OOOOHHHH....AND GUESS WHAT?????????? there was NIGHT IN THERE. only for a few minutes, but it got DARK. not that imitation night in the ma's......DARK!!!
wanna talk friggin HARD to see?? try tracking some tiny little 109 against the ground in the dark!

i'm tellin ya......dying my many many cartoon deaths hasn't been this much fun in a LOOOOONNNGGGGGG time.

now if only i can lure the rest of my squaddies in there. maybe the bad guys will have trouble figuring out which 38 is me.  :aok :neener:

Indeed Cap good times.  Buffer comes up and says 'you shot down ltCap'  'whhhaaa? no friggin way'  then I ate a sand dune  :lol that 109 might have been me as I was rockin that skin last night and trying to hide in the weeds.  Exponentially better night for me than Tuesday.  Nice to see some of the gents I invited in taking a look.  I know one for sure will be back.

Wheels up tonight between 6 and 7.   :aok

I THINK that close pass was you. you went by guns blazing, as i stalled and fell over, trailing a 190 up.

i could've more easily posted lots of screenies of me dying last night....as that's what i did the most..........but rather amazingly, it was the most fun dying i've had, as EVERYONE was fighting....and it felt good to see the "high" cons at only 3k to 5k alt.  :aok

it was an attempted deflection shot I swear  :bolt:

wow.. made a nice desktop too

I'm sure I've got some great wreckage shots and a few with me falling to earth in numerous pieces.  I'll see what I can show after work.

i never thought it was a ho attempt. i never had guns. when you first came at me, my nose wasn't even that low....i followed a 190 up, popped him, and fell over trying to control the stall.

something else i'm noticing about the p-40, which soulss told me about.......she has a very unforgiving stall, and very sudden with little warning. for her lack of power, she's pretty sensitive to the engines torque too.

this is the kind of fighting i keep looking for in the regular arenas(even with icons on)....close in dog fighting. can't find it in there anymore, unless you're in the right place at the right time.

i'm gonna keep trying to lure some of my squaddies into here........they're a great bunch. maybe if some staffersd will volenteer to clean up after us.....as we're pretty tired by the time we've wrecked a half dozebn 38's each......

just goofin  :D

I always hated German iron before this week.  I've found I do a little better in the 109 than in any of the Allied planes.  That said unless sides are wonked when I get there tonight I'll probably do some Allied practice as well.

I've always had problems in 40's of all models.  The just seem to 'float' a little to much for my tastes.

Great pics, Cap!  Sounds like the times keep on rolling. I'm on the road until Saturday night. Can't wait to get my next AVA fix. Make sure that you and the rest of the AVAers don't use up all of the cartoon planes.  :lol

whelp....i think i broke at least 8 or so pee38's......and i think about the same number of pee40's. at least in the pee40's i did manage to inflict some pain on some 109's and a 190 here and there.

what i STILL almost have trouble getting over, is that in the main arenas, no one flys p40's, whereas here they were common.

a LOT of 109 drivers will bnz, although i find some decent fights(i usually lose em too) against 109's in the mains. 190's are nearly impossible to find other than them bnz'ing out there.
in here, they all came to play, and stayed in the fray till it was over.....whelp..till they died, or ran outta ammo.  :neener: :rofl

You guys notice how fast the ammo drains from your plane in the AvA?

had a 190 lined up for a shot sooooo perfect, that i was beyond excitement. squeezed the trigger.....takatakataka..... .silence. outta ammo. first reaction was  :furious then  :x as i bravely ran away, then  :cry as i saw cons chasing me.
