Hello Aces high's skinners community, my name is Raphael and i started on this forum a few days ago.
I never made any skins before but I am having so much fun trying to figure it out that I am working on one favorite of mine.
Yes, I do not have any of these super duper programs and I am not a real skinner but, as I said, I'm having a really good time making this skin using the Paint tool that everybody has in their PCs, well thanks for your attention! just wanted to share the W.I.P images!

OH! and I got these prints on the 2.14 version, im gonna get some on the new version soon..

A couple of points:

We will have a hard time looking at the skin and appreciating it, if we cannot see the skin very well in the screenshots!

When you are offline, use the TIME command to move the position of the sun in the sky so that the angle of your screenshot has plenty of light.

.time x yy z

x = hour (0-23)
yy = minutes (00 to 59)
z = time multiplier (0 makes the sun stop where it is without moving)


Make sure we can see the skin in the screenshots, and make sure the aircraft is close enough to the "camera" so that we can see any details on the skin as well.


Presentation helps everybody see the work you've done!

True that! I didnt even think about the light! sweet and thank you both guys, I'm sure Ill need some help soon, it feels great to have a lot of people here that know about the subject, good place for a beginner.
krusty, what do you mean about presentation?
and one more thing, how do i get the exterior "camera" colser then the regular zoom while in flight? Because it doesnt feel close enought when im flying and trying to get a good screenshot by just pressing the F3 F8 and zooming. I saw some screens of some awesome skins on this forum and the camera looked really close.

I think you might get what you are looking for by using the film viewer & pausing the film & using the features on that menu to get what your looking for. Then again what do I know I can't skin.

After you press Z to zoom in, you can zoom closer or farther away by using the "[" and "]" keys.

TwinBoom, that one is another airplane from the first GavCa there is the "senta a pua!" sign missing, but yeah it really look all alike, the A's and the C1. Awesome!
Joach1m, yay thanks! Im working on the details of the skins, downloaded the Paint.net back home and I shall learn how to make it look better, im having a few problems in the regular Paint thing because the pixels are just to big for details, it looks like finger painting when i try detailing it, well is just lack of practice i guess. Ill get there. Someday. Hopefully. lol
I shall posts more pics of W.I.P soon, i really need some hints.

Some Progress...



Ok, as you guys can see, I reaaallly need some help and Ill be really happy if any of you could help me.
Im having this big problem with detailing the plane when it comes to the part between the metal parts.The pixels are to big relatively to the size of the image and I don't kno how many people on this forum do such detailed work! I really would like some hints if any of you have any.

Also, here is a lil test on the new version with the "Senta a Púa" sign and the "C1" aswell

Are you using the hi-res pack?  You need to download it, enable it in the video settings, and then save the default skin as a base.  No need to use it online, but for this you need it.

All skins should be 1024x1024 and from your pics I don't think you are working in that size.

hmmm great, now I know what im doing wrong, but that means ill have to do it all over again lol, well... that happens.

You also need to use "layers".  Does Paint have that capability?  I know "Gimp" was free last I heard and it does have it.

Thank you very much for the help fencer! Im working on the new resolution plane, it will take a lot of time but ill get there!
and, uh, what do you mean by "layers" like the shadows or do you mean one image over another image? because yes, paint.net has these 2 things
