As to ethics, by that logic there should be no axis planes at all since fascist expansionism was inherently evil.
Thats the opinion of an old bomber pilot i used to go fishing and drink homemade schnapps with when i lived in germany and i'll take his word for it.
Apparently, as it turns out, it has been done before. They used spotters to tabulate hits.
I didn't mean to imply all japanese planes, just special strike groups or something of the low end planes.
