flaps sounds
« on: October 26, 2010, 06:23:48 PM »
Are you guys ever gonna fix the flaps bug where the flaps sound just keeps going and going until you exit?   :headscratch:  This has been going on for 3-4 years now. Happened to me again tonight. Very annoying. If you have time for spaceships then you have time to fix the game.  :huh

The only time I have ever had an issue with flap sounds turned out to be a problem with the custom sound file. I would say check that first if you are using any custom sounds.

The best way to do that is to remove the flap sound and let the game default back to original sounds. If there is no problem after that then you know where your problem is.

It is such a rare thing that I'd rather have HTC spend time on game development.  Just raise flaps and lower them again and it stops.

Never came across that issue before. Could it also be needing to update audio drivers??  :salute

Wow.. yes that statement right there will encourage them to just drop everything just to fix your one problem.  Good job!

This is the first I've heard of this issue.  I have no problems of this sort.  All of my squadmates have no problems of this sort.  I don't recall this being mentioned on country channel or on 200... it would seem to me that the problem is either with YOUR computer, YOUR sounds, or YOUR drivers otherwise it would be a lot more wide spread.

If you use custom sounds, get rid of them and see what happens.  Still happening?  Check for sound driver updates.  Still happening?  You might even have a hardware issue with your sound card/sound chip/ram/whatever.

And even if this were a legitimate bug on Hitech's end, I personally feel that they have other, bigger problems to address... but hey if they happen to fix your issue on a subsequent update then good for you!

It's not a custom sound pack issue (it happens with default sound) nor is it a driver issue or even related to the Miles Sound System (this bug has been in AH since I started).  It's a random bug that pops up once in a blue moon and hard to reproduce (I've never been intentionally able to reproduce it.) and quite frankly, while annoying it's not something that is screaming "PRIORITY!" to get fixed.

Have tried putting flaps back up or back down whichever the case may be. Maybe a low priority and annoying but not when you're in a dogfight and using flaps back and forth.......while i'm chasing spaceships.  :lol

This has been around for years. I usually have it happen on the 51. I think when I hit the lower the flaps twice and then try to raise them once soon after (<1 second) this occurs. I have to raise the flaps all the way up to cut off the sound.
