I must just be killing only very bad P-38 pilots in my noob jug...

I seem to recall most P-38 jocks in MW employing the de-ack the field and vulch tactic. Then scurrying home to land their cheap scalps if someone came in above them or once the numbers were not in their favor.

AKAK, This is a thread for people who want to fly a very important cool bird together, maybe you should be patting other 38 guys on the back in different threads instead of strutting around with a misguided superiority complex. Both aircraft did very well in the PTO and the 47 outdid the 38 in the ETO and MTO by a long shot. A Jug can be a very formidable machine, I've got a lot to learn but it makes me happy trying.

Come fly with us sometime.

Yet.... It's absurd.  Or at least one part is.........  The Jug is highly maneuverable, it'll turn with the best of them.   :old:

Akak, miss ya bro. U remember that 1 fight with you and me where we both ended up missing most of our pieces? The one where my wings were gone, your tail gone, my engine shot out and I dead sticked to the CV?

I've heard of him and fought against him and I stand by my original statement.

Really? Because I saw no "running" in that video. And even so, he would only be using his advantage. Dont know why people have a problem with other people using the best of their machines. If 51's and 47's are more for speed than turning, then why should they do anything else? That's all Im saying. I just think it is ignorant to say and I quote

Quote
P-47s flyers are players that aren't skilled enough to fly the vastly superior P-38 and there isn't one P-47 pilot in Aces High that can be considered any competition for even the most inexperienced P-38 pilot.

There are a ton of good P47 sticks that own my 38 and my hat is off to them. Keep on flying you big beautiful jugs!

to be honest i fly both planes, i kill just as much in a 38 as i do a 47, actually more kills in the 38's, so when you said    " P-47s flyers are players that aren't skilled enough to fly the vastly superior P-38 and there isn't one P-47 pilot in Aces High that can be considered any competition for even the most inexperienced P-38 pilot." quote by AKAK ...  that's absurd

I feel as if I have seen this thread before.

I do believe that's true.  Someone else tried to get the Jug guys organized a while back.  I guess the Jug guys just aren't sappy enough :)

:aok utterly absurd. Ignore it. What type of 47 do you like to fly? Do you ever fly MW?

Oakranger, are the guys from the 56th FG active? How about Stoney74 and his 348th? My squad flies with the Checkertails from time to time and I see Kuhn in a jug quite a bit.

there are three things that are snacks for the P-38 - Japanese planes, Spitfires and P-47s.  Face it, the P-47 is nothing more than a brick with the maneuverability to match.  P-47s flyers are players that aren't skilled enough to fly the vastly superior P-38 and there isn't one P-47 pilot in Aces High that can be considered any competition for even the most inexperienced P-38 pilot.

In fact, the P-47 drivers only have two maneuvers...Dive and run.
