Rearm Pad
« on: November 05, 2010, 02:21:09 PM »
Now, I don't think this would be to hard to do, but then again I'm no programmer. How many times have you touched down at a field or on a CV to rearm, only to realize what you were armed with earlier or your fuel load just isn't needed anymore.

My wish is that when you go to rearm, instead of having to tower out and lose your streak, how about a little window that pops up asking what % of fuel you want, and armament?

What do you all think of this?

You have to have a limit someplace, gameplay requires it. This one is as good as any. Changing gun loads, ord loads, etc is not something that was done in half an hour on a rearm pad. It took hours and was done in a hanger or revetment while the pilot debriefed, ate, napped, briefed for the next run.

All you would really accomplish with a rearm pad change is bigger streaks.
We have people get bent out of shape now because they died with 4 kills. Imagine the whines and complaints if they died with 14, or 40?

Well, if not in the sense of streaks, at least as a means of getting back in the fight. Say you attack a field, and as your returning, you see the nme dar approaching your sector, land, change load at the pad and go intercept. Just for those who want just a tad more realism.

I can see having a choice of fuel percentage - 25 to 100% (Fill 'er up Joe) but I think as far as weapons are concerned just leave it.

Perhaps...once you're on the pad, a simple dot command, say .fuel 50 would give you half a tank, but it has to be done within the time you're on the pad.

If you are in such a hurry to change load and fuel to get back up and intercept the new threat, it's MUCH faster to end sortie and change those settings in the hanger than it would be to taxi all the way to the rearm pad and mess with dot commands or a popup box.

The current operation of the rearm pad is just fine the way it is.

I agree with JHerne in the name of +1

I agree with Ghosth in the name of -1 also however.

And not even the streak part USAF2010, no, not at all.  You kind of ignored the meat of the statement.....   Rearming a plane is far more time consuming than refueling it.

This has been discussed to death before.  Most people that want this change just want to pick and not actually fight anything.  Me i'll keep trying to break the record for more kills of people trying to rearm in one pass, currently at four.

Ageed!

also, I rarely get a plane back to base with enough parts on it to be worth a "rearm".  :P
