in order for us to remain a free society, we must incur risk. if we attempt to remove risk, we will also remove our freedom.
Quoted for truth.
We will never, ever be 100% safe. Can't happen. There will always be a way for something to sneak through.
The risk of terrorism is LOW - even before 9/11. Think of it this way - even if you were going to be placed on a plane on 9/11 itself, you had a risk of 3/10,000 of getting on the doomed ones. Scary, but safer than being a smoker!
Since then, over 9 years, there have been over 36 MILLION domestic flights in the US. Total number of deaths from terrorism? Zero.
Remember, the strategy of cultural terrorism is to create an environment of fear (hence "TERRORism") that causes the target group to alter its political behavior. The fear by its nature will be out of proportion to the danger, which is how the very few terrorists try to counterbalance their own political and or numerical weakness.
We're doing the terrorists work for them.
Remember after 9/11, when the airports reopened? National Guardsmen with M16s all over the place. Pissed me off - even if those guys had been there 9/11, it would have made NO DIFFERENCE to the attackers. All they were doing is making people feel better, and that's all that is going on with TSA now. "Everybody feel safe now, we are dealing with the threat of idiots who try to burn their own pee pees off."
