analog Rudders and digital stick

system windoz 98
V-3 card
P-3 450

My old USB Wingman Logictech stick shoot craps this weekend so I went out to find a new one.

Found a new one on sale but also the store had a set of CH pro pedals non USB for sale.

I hooked up the stick up via the USB and it was recongnized in windows but in AH it would not calibrate,,I had it hooked up previosly in the game port.

I hooked the pedels up to the game port but could not get windows to recognize them.  I loaded the CH software, virtual pilot from disk.

In order to fly I hooked up the stick in the game port and it worked fine.

Any ideas why the stick would not work via the usb and ideas for getting pedels working?

Thankx

Hmm i am not much help to u here, but this is my setup:

celery 266 @448
128mb ram
v3 3000
abit bh-6 MB
w98 (non se)
dx7a

MS Sidewinder precision Pro USB as device #2 in game controller properties

TM supersport wheel and pedals as device #1 (has to be #1 for it to work in anything) on gameport. (btw gameport is on a SB Awe64)

Poll with interrupts disabled (AS ALWAYS)

AH sees all the controllers fine.
I use the pedals from the wheel combo for my rudders, and the stick for everything else.

I hope you remembered that once you get them set up in Windows you have to go to Aces High setup choose joystick area and assign the correct axis to the correct stick or pedal device. This is often overlooked and can cause that problem.

I have all USB stuff now, but had the same setup you have before. It took a bit of time to get Windows to see the analog pedals without an analog stick, but it can be done.

In Windows I chose a new stick, and you have to search around for what might work, made sure I had rudder pedals checked, and then clicked passed the calibration for the stick to get at the rudder calibration. This worked fine, but an easier method is to take that old analog stick and plug it in the gameport along with the rudders. Check rudder pedals when choosing a stick and calibrate both stick and pedals. Just leave the old stick on the floor out of the way.

Again, make sure you go into AH joystick setup and assign the axis to each input device. If you have toe brakes on the pedals assign them also.

Make sure you have Direct X 7a
