Real Hero Soldiers
« on: November 28, 2010, 10:05:21 AM »
Came across this on the military news site & thought I'd share it...this is what makes servicemen & women so special.  Spc. Moss was impalled with a live RPG, and all protocol was ignored to save him.   :salute

Oh god, nothing like a butterbar. Louie soon to be a major suggestion from an old 11C NCO/disabled vet.
Throw that book away, LISTEN to your Sgt's! THEY will train you correctly. You will hear that more than once on your way.
Trust your NCO's judgement call, seek Squad Leader input, learn about every soldier in your platoon.
ALWAYS keep your Troopers informed, talk to the men, not only NCO's.
Last but not least- KEEP YOUR HEAD DOWN LIEUTENANT! and bellybutton TO THE BLAST!
:salute Sir, and have a rewarding Career.

great advice. Don't take enlisted jokes wrong as well, if someone is going over board take him to the side or just give him a bad NCOER

Now that's also a little creepy, My last name is Wynn, never met anyone out side of my family with that name.

On that note, listen to your NCO but same time set your mission priority to meet commander's intend rather then checking the block like some NCO recommend =)

During the push into Baghdad, a humvee gunner three vehicles in front of me was killed when an RPG hit him in the chest and passed out the back, never exploding, leaving a 5" diameter hole clear through.  Though I did not know the soldier personally, that's a memory I will never forget.

Many "Heroes" we never hear about at all.

Amazing.

So true my friend, so true.
