Is Black ops even good?

Ive been disappointed ever since World at War.  When they decreased the server size limit and got rid of the ability to lean, its been disappointing.  After MW2, I'm cautious about getting Black ops.

The game is great but it has a few glitches where the connection can cut out and it ends your game. Other wise pretty good online, but I'm starting to find the number of spawn campers and cheap weapon users on the rise...

I need a new game myself how many players on at your time. Do you use a game controller or joystick?
