Seriously?

The B-17 was also used in night time bombing raids, does that make it a night bomber?  The C-47 was also flown at night, does that make it a night transport?

Just because a plane flew at night doesn't mean it was a "night version" of that particular plane.  Yes, the Lancaster was used in night time missions but that doesn't make it a dedicated night bomber, just a bomber that flew night missions along with daylight missions.

Sheesh...this was already discussed previously in that P-61 thread you linked to in this thread.

If AH survives this current generation of noxious ignorant console bred gamers I would expect the P61 in game eventually, at some point in time.

Because there is no need for a pure-bred night fighter?  :headscratch:

I need it too, give me P61!!!!!

I'm gonna start breaking into cars to get enough money to fund my habit of P61

Maybe all who support it are not console ignorant bred gamers.  Maybe some us like the look, the technology and histroy behind the P-61.  I'm not saying we need it right now.  Would I like to see it in the future; yes.

I think people fail to see this is a wish list, a place to voice what you like to see in AH.  Frankly I don't recall the staff of HTC saying "No night fighters allowed in AH".  It does met the squadron strength, time frame and combat criteria.

Well, a good discussion none the less. Yes, 1000k works. If we used that in metric it would work out to 1,000,000 meters, or you could guess that in typing really quick I hit the "k" right above the "m," though I am glad you found solace in the error. Somehow that makes your position more viable, I agree.

And yes, to the Few, I have read the older posts. A fresh round of discussion is a good thing. For some once spoken always spoken, I have a habit of bringing up issues again and again. Serves me really well in my real life, which deals with politics and law. Quite fitting since there seems to be a great deal of politics in here, with little law.

A while back, I think it was on America's Thanksgiving holiday, the screen suddenly went very dark. Enemy planes showed clearly though the range was around 1k (1000m) for my Pony rider and Tinhat friends. Shooting down a 109-K4 and a B-24 at night was great fun. Having a designed built night fighter like the P-61 would be even better.

Several great options with this whole line of thought. As boring as it gets, I will likely rehash it every 6 months or so. I'm glad in your boredom you have helped rehash it.

As for more Axis planes, what are you after? Variations beyond the 109-K4 or Ta-152? If AH would add some concept planes from the Axis arsenal it would be great, like the Arrow but I don't think that is going to happen. At least before they get the submarines.

The widowmaker was a nightfighter and was used solely as such.

Really?

I am 100% pro P61.  Its the one plane I want more than any other for some unknown reason :)

     Nice find Lyric..well done  :aok
Truth be told it is about the third or fourth time I have pulled these pics out on this debate. Or there abouts. The P61's just did not have anything to shoot at during the night towards each theaters end. So they loaded them up with ord & sent them out to bomb at night & day.

I stand corrected, you killed my argument (happens quite a bit on the board these days).

But as it stands, the Widowmaker was originally built for night fighting purposes.
