Safely download videos from You Tube??
« on: December 24, 2010, 07:32:18 PM »
Is there a way to download videos from You Tube without getting some type of nastiness attached to it?

Is there some type of program that is safe to use and free??

Anybody have any experience at all with this?

I use http://youtubedownload.altervista.org/

haven't had any problems with it yet but it does seem to regurgitate on copyrighted sites.

Step one: Use Firefox.

Step two: Click on "Add ons" on firefox.com (While using firefox). Search "Youtube downloader". Try any of them.

Step three: Go to youtube. A new button will have appeared on youtube to let you download any videos.

I use Firefox and download helper add-on. Puts a icon up in your tool bar.

Yep. Then I use a media converter like Super© to convert the .flv file to whatever format I want.

There ya go. If you have any further concerns. Simply scan the files using your AV and malwarebytes.. Usually you can do this by right clicking on the file and select one of the "scan with" options.
