In game sound
« on: January 02, 2011, 01:10:40 PM »
I seem to have activated my microphone so it stays on all the time while not in game. Also, while in game I can barely be heard or not at all. I have turned all the sliders up for mic volume in window and the game itself and still no change. Hmmmm.

What version of Windows?  There are different setups for XP / Vista - Windows 7

I use xp. It worked before I got my new system. Now the volume is weak and all the sliders are turned up with on improvement. Tried different mikes but thats not the problem.

One other wierd thing I'd like to add is that the mic is always on weather im in game or not. I cant get it to shut off. In game its barely audible.

Try Start, Settings, Control panel, sounds and audio, Voice tab, click Volume button, on the far right is the Microphone column. Put and X in the "mute" box. Before you leave this window move your sliders to the center. One of the things I found is that having the settings all the way up overpowers the mic and distorts your voice when you make a transmission.
